How is it possible that two of the NFL's original franchises have met exactly once before in the playoffs?

Cannon Shell 01-16-2011 04:43 PM

I'll take the points...

Just incredible. I would have thought that they would have met at least 5,6 times.

Not only once in the playoffs but it was back in the 40s when there was no teams. Its insane.

Forget the Super Bowl, next week is the Super Bowl as far as I am concerned. It is gonna be bonkers

lol...... Being purely selfish Bob. If the Steelers are lucky enough to beat the Jets, the Steelers match up way better against the Bears than they do the Packers. Rogers with the 3 step drop and all those quick receivers are a bad match-up.

I'm taking the Packers..

randallscott35 01-17-2011 10:00 AM

The Bears cannot beat GB this week.

jwkniska 01-17-2011 03:26 PM

some vegas casinos have it at 3.5, the rest at 3.

GO BEARS :tro:

AeWingnut 01-17-2011 07:11 PM

Some Bears fans would rather the Bears not make the playoffs than to lose to Green Bay in the NFC Championship.

This is the first time in a long time that both Green Bay and Chicago have had decent records. I expected the Pack to win the division while the Bears go 3-13 and look for yet another franchise QB.

I guess Mike Martz finally got the offense clicking. He's always been good with QBs.

I figure I am bad luck, so I bet the Packers. The only thing that can trump my bad luck is a phone call like the one the Eagles got.

Packers steam rising to the top. Fave in the Super Bowl as well.

GBBob 01-18-2011 10:45 AM

Packers screwed..

If this were sheets, they are so due to bounce.

W vs Giants= +4

W vs Bears = +7

W vs Eagles = 2

W vs Falcons = -1

I thought good horses/teams don't bounce.

Love this quote from Roper today, "If the favored Packers triumph on the dyed-green, torn-up tundra of Soldier Field on Sunday, fans all over Wisconsin will rejoice as if they’d been given a lifetime supply of Gorgonzola, a Leinenkugel IV and 30 extra days to hunt white-tailed deer."

I think the Bears will win. I think the Packers were very fortunate against Philly as Akers missed two realative chip shots for him which changes greatly how the end of the game is played. Everyone acted like that was a no doubter for the Packers. They were very fortunate to win that one. The Bears have been the most non-talked about playoff team in history...it's like they don't even exist to the media. I find the whole thing strange. Packers had trouble putting up points both games against Chicago. Rodgers is really good, but I think they'll continue to have trouble scoring against them.

Bears-Jets Super Bowl. I think the Steelers O-line has major issues.

Im still not sure how "good" they are on a consistant basis. Still a questionable running game, terrible special teams and fill-ins subbing for key starters lost for the year.

randallscott35 01-18-2011 01:39 PM

All Green Super Bowl....Both 6 seeds. Who gets to wear the home unis?

There is a reason no one talked about the bears. They have a very good defense and special teams, but their offense is suspect. Cutler is horrible and will be exposed this weekend for who he really is. None of their WR would even make the packers roster. Bears fans didn't start believing in this team until recently and I think in the back of their head they still don't believe in this team. The packers are the better team, now the better team doesn't always win. Weather could be a factor if it gets windy that would be a definite plus for the bears.

The battles are won and lost with both lines. Both the offensive and defensive lines have been getting progressively better. I believe it is up to Bulaga and Clifton if the pack wins on Sunday.

Stop it

NTamm1215 01-18-2011 02:06 PM

The Bears should just lose Sunday to get out of the way. Whomever represents the AFC will have more than enough time to figure out how to grind Mike Martz's system to a halt.

It isn't the old school Martz system, Lovie pulled the reins in after the bye.

Jets have a better record so it should be them, but who knows.

Not that it really means anything, but I think the home team alternates by conference every year.
