We have had a little luck in this race in the past here's hoping it continues on Saturday night :D

Arletta 11-17-2010 01:41 PM

I am going to try and head over there if the weather holds.

Making my annual trek to Vinton, too. Any other DTers planning trip over?

RockHardTen1985 11-18-2010 09:40 AM

There is no pick 3 showing for 5-7 on formulator pp's. That would SUCK.
Im totally tossing Blue Laser, I like 3 horses much better. Hoping he takes a ton of $$, with the DRF article and all.

randallscott35 11-18-2010 09:43 AM

Rooting for Breen. Not betting.

Im looking now, this race has to collapse, right?

I don't know. I haven't looked at it. I bet against Breen's last out at Monmouth that day and he was actually pretty good not beating much. Just pulling for the hometown folks.

RockHardTen1985 11-18-2010 09:47 AM

There are like 8 horses with speed. 3 look like they 100% need the lead. One stretch out sprinter who is close in sprints. A first time Baffert who has showed speed getting blinkers.
Rush Now looks like the horse to beat IMO, but Im sure he will be bet.

asudevil 11-18-2010 09:57 AM

What if the 11 draws in? He's a half to Keyed Entry.

hockey2315 11-18-2010 10:02 AM

Is one of these horses seriously going to win a $1M race?

Graded no less. Train the winner up to the Derby

Not only is one of them gonna win it but 1 of them are gonna be Top 5 in graded earnings for the KY Derby(Guaranteed to be in) and another will win 200k which pretty much means all the they gotta do is run and win another 50-70k to be in.

Sounds like some meal.

I was only going to play one race (Qunidici Man in the Mile. Winnah! :tro:) but Classic Legacy looks pretty good and with the odds on Decisive Moment so high (and he looks alright) I think I'll box up these two and leave it at that.

On Aces and Kings... a different kinda story.

RockHardTen1985 11-18-2010 08:51 PM

The 5th will be crucial for me, because it starts the pick 3 I plan on playing. I really really like the 2, and I think the 3 can win. Both will be square prices.

my miss storm cat 11-19-2010 05:30 PM

Incase anyone needs them...

Then it's a setup for Classic Legacy?

You would think, but first time blinks and first time GOAT.
Im using 3 horse. Leaning on 2 and using the other a bit. Im using Baffert and Tony D. I think one of them is the most likely winner.
I'll use the Levine, I love the fact that he shipped and got a work over the track, and Im guessing he is the main speed. Maybe he wont stop.

Fastest by far on the sheets....but I can't get excited about a horse that has sprinted at Finger Lakes. Yet maybe this cast of characters isn't much either.

Left Bank 11-20-2010 05:04 PM

What the hell happened in the jackpot?

The Indomitable DrugS 11-20-2010 05:09 PM

Two horses exiting the same race at Calder made up about a $800 exacta.

Left Bank 11-20-2010 05:15 PM

It looked pretty scary on the second turn.I saw 3 horses heading for the outside wall, one without a jockey.

Alan07 11-20-2010 05:22 PM

Report: Broken jaw for Boel.

tjfla 11-20-2010 05:23 PM

Well didn't see that coming

Clubhouse Ride got a nice $90,000 tho towards the Derby

Who wants to see Gourmet Dinner or Decisive Moment tho?

Not that I was getting to the winner, and I really barely looked, but how the hell was Bug Juice the 2:1 favorite?

I don't know. I would have guessed Sweet Ducky would have been the favorite off of back to back open company stakes wins in dirt routes.

Hard to believe a race with a $1 million purse and graded stakes status could attract such a horrid field.

The problem with Sweet Ducky was that he was on pokey paces in those two and he was going to need a change of tactics. I doubt that's the reason why they didn't make him favorite.

The linemaker making him 8/1 on the morning line might have fanned the flames. Sheets players seem to trust morning lines more than non-sheets players.

To be fair, the morning line favorite was a total joke and was about 22-1 with 9mtp.

The best part was when Gourmet Dinner's connections said they arent even sure he wil run in the KY Derby. Of course he will cause they will sell him by then.

I just hope he can be compete and not get destroyed in the FL prep races

Good call, hope you cashed out

The Indomitable DrugS 11-21-2010 10:06 AM

Gourmet Dinner will be taken to the woodshed in the major Derby preps.

That is the bad thing,he will run in the Florida preps and get beat bad. Maybe the new owners will run him once and just sit him to the Derby??

Between him and Decisive Moment there are some owners who must be licking there chops to get a Derby Horse

Betsy 11-21-2010 11:10 AM

It kind of stinks that horses who probably aren't any good basically have their Derby spot given to them if they can choose this one race to win or run well in.

Well Decisive Moment has no business in the Derby but atleast it looks like he can move the pace some what. Would rather have a horse that does that then another stalker or sprinter who dies at a mile.

Everyone knows the rules going in. Maybe you should wait before anointing every 2yo maiden winner the next Derby champion.

Excuse me? Why don't you point out to me where I've done what you're accusing me of? That will take you an awfully long time because I've never once done that.

Dialed In and Labauru are two. You start a post with these, yet you post that horses that probably aren't any good basically have their Derby spots given to them.
Not that I think either of the Calder horses will win the Derby, but they've earn their ticket.
