Figured a change from all the Z and HOY crap is needed.
Anyone have any maiden winners that they think will move up?
I did a ton of research to come up with this list, and the Derby winner is likely on it.

VOL JACK 11-15-2010 08:33 PM

you better take a look at Leave of Absence...as Vic would say.

RockHardTen1985 11-15-2010 08:38 PM

Do you think me of all people did not take a long look at a Rick V/Klervich?

To Honor and Serve gets Bandbox in the Remsen and Astrology gets Rogue Romance in the KY Jockey Club

I would think Curlinello would be a bigger threat.

Habersham000 11-16-2010 08:34 AM

You might want to add Sherriff Cogburn to that list.

Habersham000 11-16-2010 10:27 AM

I heard they were going to take the Oaklawn route to Churchill this winter...not sure what race they are pointing to start off his 3 yo campaign.

You just asked PG1985 to become a fan of a Baffert trained son of Point Given.

I hope you are not a fan of the horse.

Bandbox was not great IMO either. I would take Curlinello moving forward.

Classic Legacy sire is Macho Uno...Was privately purchased and moved to Baffert....2 for 3 lifetime...Delta Jackpot this weekend

Coil (Point Given-Theatrical mare) was privately purchased by the Lookin at Lucky group, after his maiden race, when he ran 3rd to another Baffert hopeful called Awesome Patriot (Awesome Again-Cee's Tizzy mare) 2yo Hollywood stake on Saturday......Coil smashed a MSW field this past Saturday at HP.

I wouldn't say he smashed that field, and I don't think there was much in that race, either.

Maybe smashed is a little enthusiastic. Handled the field rather easily.

Easily is a little enthusiastic also. Are you connected with Classic Legacy?

Clear by 3 1/4 lengths is rather easily, no?

Not in my opinion. He was pretty hard used. He should improve as the distances increase though and is a horse to keep an eye on.

PatCummings 11-16-2010 11:27 PM

3. Sway Away

Very interesting pick - my buddy actually picked him out at the sales - they put him away for a spring campaign - could be Oaklawn...could be Dubai...seriously.

I was not sure if promoting my own thread was a good idea, but its really getting to be pathetic. Even I stayed away from the threads todays. Lets talk Derby 11, I have the FEVER ALREADY.

Speaking of IC offspring, do you have an opinion about Anthony's Cross?
He's the Eoin Harty that ran in the key maiden race at toga with Astrology and To Honor and Serve. Broke his maiden at churchill a few weeks ago, and looks like he could become something.

tjfla 11-17-2010 09:36 AM

Well we should get clues this weekend, where the Top 2 Finishers in the Delta Jackpot will be in the Ky Derby unless they get injured or sold to Dubai.

Then the 27 we get 2 Graded 2 yr old races with

Remsen(So Far)-To Honor and Serve,Curlinello,Bandbox

Ky Jockey Club(So Far)-Rogue Romance,Astrology,and possibly Z Appeal,Major Gain,Santiva

Thunder Gulch 11-17-2010 10:04 AM

You left off Zenyatta

My opinion of him is that I now have to go look up a video of him.

Thanks!

When was the last time the top 2 finishers in the Delta Jackpot went onto the KY Derby? I'm fully aware of having them getting the needed earnings. It's often they're not good enough to warrant consideration (Turf War a couple of years ago, as well as many others).
