Sorry to hear that, sad news indeed. What a beautiful boy (I love the grays).
He was fortunate to be at Re-Run, and Re-Run was fortunate to have him. |
Sorry for you loss, he looked so sweet with the little girl.
I too have a ReRun horse, Sliver Over Finish, a grandson of the great Buckpasser. He is so much fun. This week end I had him in the stall while I mowed and aerated the paddock, mulching up all of the fallen leaves to help get some nice grass growth for next spring and when I let him out, he was so fun to watch. He was only in for about 1 hour, but it was such an ice day when he came out he ran and ran with his tail up, neck arched. Just beautiful.:) They really do inspire to see how happy they can be over some thing as simple as a nice day.:tro: Keep your horse in your heart always. :{>: DeeTee nation- Support ReRun and other horse charities as much as you can. Very sorry to hear that he passed. He was a very pretty and happy looking boy.
May your memories and your dedication to these animals support you and comfort you through the loss of his passing. |
Richard,
Very sorry to hear... I know you have great passion for all horses and your love for them is evident in your artwork. Your kindness toward Eastover Faith and any OTT horse is widely appreciated by all. Here's hoping a new companion works his or her way to you and fills the void. SB |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwVwJ18Z4-o On the evening of November 13th ReRun lost one of our most beloved horses...Eastover Faith. Eastie, as he was know, succumbed to complications due to melanomas, benign tumors that grays are prone to get as they age. These tumors inhibited Eastie's ability to pass manure and he coliced. His foster mom maintained him comfortably for quite a while, dealing with these growths. However, on that Saturday evening Eastie could not be made comfortable and was humanely euthanized by our veterinarian. Eastover Faith was born and bred in Maryland roughly 15 years ago. While there, he raced for over 5 years and earned an incredible $223,000. He was retired at age 6 due to injuries acquired from his long career. He came to ReRun where his foster mom, Diana, at Lumber Jack Farm nursed him back to health. From there he was adopted out briefly, but it quickly became evident that his injuries would prevent him from being ridden comfortably, and he was once again placed in the loving hands of Lumber Jack Farm. Everyone at ReRun and all his supporters will miss him a great deal. His foster mom, Diana, says it best: "Eastie was like no other, never aggressive when sharing the role as ‘Head of The Herd’ with best pal Infinite Crescendo, also known as Cheny. He was stoic, so large, so grey, and always a silent, commanding presence. I feel privileged having been part of his golden years as pasture pal, fundraiser and so much more. I’d like to pass on a quote from a donor in response to Eastie's article in the New York Time several years back: ’He inspired me to keep trying to save the ones that can no longer be ridden. For horses are so much more than entertainment, transportation, and meat….something most will never realize.’ Thanks for everything Easty Beasty!” All my love Diana, Dan and all the animals at Lumber Jack Farm. ReRun would also like to thank everyone who has sponsored him throughout the years and those who have also sent in memorial donations in his honor. He will be missed. A special sponsor of Eastie’s has made a video tribute to him on youtube. Click here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwVwJ18Z4-o) to see the tribute. |
