According to Racing Post, Champ Pegasus is out (although I can only remember him listed in the first noms for the Mile Championship)...

my miss storm cat 11-12-2010 02:10 PM

Dangerous Midge will pass...

my miss storm cat 11-17-2010 07:31 PM

Snow Fairy might go to HK instead (for either the HK Cup or Vase)...

my miss storm cat 11-17-2010 08:13 PM

Whoa check out the locals!

This is gonna be some field.

First pp's...

Would have liked to see her run. Maybe cause it's her they'll show the race on TVG.

WOW, what a nice race...gonna be fun Mah Japan Sistah!!!!

So Snow Fairy definitely out?

CSC 11-18-2010 01:09 PM

If Snow Fairy has the green light to go on HK Intl day, it will be curious will it at 2000M or 2400M? The only distance she hasn't been effective at was the St. Leger distance which was a little too far for her. Ever since she stretched out from 2000 to 2400 she has been a very improved horse.

American distances please, we never learned metric here.
I think the St. Leger is 1-13/16ths, so almost 2 miles right.

Irian was pretty impressive in the prep for the 2000.

my miss storm cat 11-23-2010 02:56 PM

For a sec I thought wait am I in the HK thread, CSC... :D

Yeah it just seems like it took him longer then they were expecting, huh?

Nice horse. I keep meaning to look at his stuff from Germany on the hkjc site. I'll get to it someday!

On to the Japan Cup...

Before I forget, Colm O'Donoghue got the Joshua Tree (who might go to the HK Vase after this one) mount. I think he has a few fans here (the horse, not the jockey).

You know this is really great to have so many internationals and God knows I love VI but I keep coming back to the locals and Buena Vista aside? Man Oken Bruce Lee... remember how good he was in this race last year?

This will be his 3rd try (he was 5th 2 years ago and 2nd last year).

Too early to do this but however I play it i will absolutely include him.

The one name I've heard in terms of looking good right now is Rose Kingdom. (... and I believe he has Take up... not that that makes him a plus for me but I think it might for a few).

Oken Bruce Lee, Buena Vista, Voila Ici (the Italian boy!) and Meisho Beluga in some kinda order. That's how I'd play it if it were tonight regardless of how good Rose boy looks. (NOt my play... just sayin'. We have plenty of time).

For the record. :D

What ever happened to Indy George the horse?

You and him both man..... rare but fantastic sightings. :)

jaripeo 11-23-2010 05:40 PM

JAGUAR MILE

NEVER BOUCHON

BUENA VISTA

One of this will win.......:)

FGFan 11-24-2010 02:07 PM

I have no order yet, haven't really looked at the pp's but yeah I'm with you on Beluga, Oken and Buena Vista. BUT haven't really looked at the foriegn invaders. I just love Beluga, and Oken probably needed that race back...I miss Vodka...:(

!!!OOOOO!!!! that Italian boy is pretty like you said.

OK now we can't forget jockey challenge friday, I'll be at the Fair Grounds so you definitely need to remind me to watch.:p

Ummmm George who are you? I don't remember you being here in Japan before, introductions needed here Miss Kitty.
It's usually just Miss Kitty and Me, well a couple of others, talking about Japan, but usually just us talking to ourselves. :D

Hey, I'll go with the Italian kid. If he's good enough to make your avatar, he's gotta be special.
I'll have to keep checking back to see if you change your picks before I finalize mine.
Don't know what happened to my namesake. Hopefully he's retired & lying in the sun and checking the mares out.

BTW, you made me blush !!!

Oh my God.

Yet another NerdyTrail doorknob.

SportyFans...look past the GIC overused posts made by the Inoperative Norge.

Thats is one big ol' dumb nincompoop.

clyde 11-24-2010 08:24 PM

Ya thank ah made him blush??

God that one gagged me!

my miss storm cat 11-24-2010 08:38 PM

If anyone would like to start a parallel universe Japan Cup fight thread, pissing contest thread, lets act like imbeciles thread, whatever - by all means... be my guest.

I don't care how off topic anyone wants to get... it's fine... but why don't we not act like were 6 years old.

Okay?

Good.

clyde 11-24-2010 08:45 PM

oh I was jut pwayin' awound a iddy biddy

he be a doo dah!!

my miss storm cat 11-25-2010 05:23 PM

I figured this should go here instead of on the Japan racing thread since it's the day before...

So who wants to make a prediction for the World Super Jockeys Series???

http://japanracing.jp/_news2010/101125.html

Much as I love Ryan Moore (and Soumillon) and there are some good Japanese jocks, I'm saying Matt Chadwick wins it for Hong Kong.

The kid is amazing.

Who do you all think wins?

my miss storm cat 11-26-2010 08:31 PM

The barrier draw...

I'm sticking with this... with these 4.

If one scratches I'll use Rose Kingdom or Jaguar Mail but otherwise it's all about these four as far as I can see.

Will probably play Oken Bruce Lee and Buena Vista on top in different combinations and then maybe a win bet on Voili Ici or Meisho Beluga (depending on the odds. I would assume Buena Vista will be the favorite followed by Victorie Pisa and Nakayama Festa, the two who made the trip to France, who I'm not using).

I realize Ms. Beluga just raced last weekend but I'm thinking she's in the form of her life. No reason why she won't be right there at the end with the Queen of Japan...

Rileyoriley 11-26-2010 09:20 PM

I'll go with Jaguar Mail and Dandino (sounds like he's a character on Hawaii 5-0).

Book 'em Dandino!:D

I can't see past 2 horses winning this year, Nakayama Festa and Buena Vista, the latter will be heavily backed making her very unattractive to back on top, however she will be a good play on the bottom of the exactas, the former will be more attractive in the win slot. Not sure how he has come back from the Arc, Japanese info is always abit sketchy but I guess they wouldn't be running if he wasn't acting well. If he doesn't go off as the fav, he should be a steal at whatever price as 2nd or 3rd choice.

Masayoshi Ebina
"I can't say about how he's been since he's come back, but I'm confident the stable will have him in the best shape possible. He has a habit of playing around in training, but he's completely locked in during races.

clyde 11-27-2010 02:53 PM

When does this Barrier thing happen in East Coast time?

my miss storm cat 11-27-2010 06:34 PM

Good luck to all of us.

Gee Clydie I think it's on around 10:30 or so out here so 1:30ish.

dagolfer33 11-27-2010 07:00 PM

All I want to know is, how many times did Mike Smith finish last or close to last, last night????

my miss storm cat 11-27-2010 07:07 PM

http://www.tvg.com/forms/Japan%2011.28.10.pdf

I'm still on Beluga, although she did race 2 weeks ago, BV of course and I'm liking Pelusa and Nakayama fest.
I like your pretty Italian boy but not sure he's been in this company before.

Deb-O-Deb did you just bet horsey names? Not that I haven't been known to do that...:D

dagolfer33 11-28-2010 12:18 AM

I'm liking the 6,11,15,16. Not sure how I'm going to use them yet though.
