Woodbine

His first race was memorable.

Not because he was 3rd that warm July day (2005) at Carlisle but rather because the 4th place finisher had such an interesting name. Smart Ass. (Brock has talked about this one...)

He ran 5 more times that year, winning three of them.

He didn't have a win the following year but he was pretty damned sensational in the G1 Golden Jubilee at Royal Ascot. Although he had the misfortune to have Spencer aboard :D, he was 2nd to Les Arcs and came home ahead of giants like Takeover Target and Glamous Puss (and crowd favorites like Iffraaj, Quito, Fayr Jag (RIP), Gift Horse, The Tattling and Ashdown Express and that's just to name a few).

In 2007 he won one (Ascot) and another the following year (Windsor).

Although he attempted to continue his tradition of one win per year in 09 his math was bad and he accidentally won at Nad al Sheba and again at Newbury.

He seems to do well in the summer months and with Robinson aboard and, for some strange reason, threw in a win (a little late) last month shocking the field and the crowd and beating horses this 7 year old had no chance to beat... at 16/1 he handed the favorite Premio Loco, his ass on a platter as they say.

So Balthazaar's Gift apparently arrived in Ontario a couple of days ago.

Figured I'd explain before asking...

If anyone is gonna be at Woodbine this weekend, please take a picture and wish him luck for me.

He won't win but whatever.

A cool old guy who I just adore so if you're going to be there please consider.

He's not gelded and is 7... this will be his 49th start so he probably won't be racing a whole lot longer.

Okay well thank you nice people from Canada. :D

(Oh God here we go. Morty in 5..... 4..... 3....)

my miss storm cat 10-15-2010 07:26 PM

Your boy could be right behind.

clyde 07-22-2011 07:19 PM

I like that horsey...Himalayah and Delgatah to run 1,2.

clyde 07-22-2011 08:33 PM

But Canadians still suck and are colossal failures as aviators.

fastless at NA is a prime example.

my miss storm cat 08-13-2011 03:41 PM

They ran him in a race with Musir, Dubawi Gold et al?

Brilliant.
