Pats trade Moss to Vikings for 3rd rounder

Looks like Old Man River might get his wish from his Packer days. At least this'll put an end to the incessant Patriot threads from DrugS.

Welcome home!

randallscott35 10-05-2010 07:46 PM

and of course they trade him the week they are playing the jets...oh bill.

It was suggested by someone on radio today, might have been Colin Cowherd that Moss catching ZERO passes last night might have something to do with Belichick. Everyone knows how tight a ship that cheater runs and he couldn't have been happy with the way Moss whined to the media about his contract after the first game. Cowherd (or whoever it was, i don't remember) was suggesting Belichick was fed up and was sending a message to Moss.

I don't know if I buy that theory, but it would appear all is not kosher in Patriot land.

I'd love to hear a certain someone explain how the Pats will overcome the loss of the greatest player who ever played anything.

Woodhead.

The Indomitable DrugS 10-05-2010 08:24 PM

This thread should actually be titled "Vikings win the Super Bowl?"

I just checked the Vikings roster and some wash up white guy who never plays has #84.

Don't be cheapasses and give Moss a different number because it's a little more profitable for jersey sales or something. Allow everyone to get those old 84 Jerseys out of the closets or basements.

Let the mans tattoo look less stupid.

ateamstupid 10-05-2010 08:36 PM

The anarchy on Patriots message boards and blogs is going to be awesome. Minnesota's still gonna lose on Monday if this goes through.

Coach Pants 10-05-2010 09:41 PM

I wonder if he'll do a Wrangler commercial with Brit Far.

Don't they have a contract for jail jumpsuits?

ateamstupid 10-06-2010 06:49 AM

Pats getting a 3rd rounder in return. Pretty skimpy for the greatest player ever.

were'nt they offering a second rounder for northern colorado's vincent jackson?

just saying

slotdirt 10-06-2010 07:48 AM

Northern Colorado, Marshall. Potato, po-tah-to.

ateamstupid 10-06-2010 08:17 AM

Deal's done. Vikes at Pats 10/31. DrugS' immediate abandonment of the Pats after non-stop Pats talk all year will be pretty funny. As will RHT's explanation of how losing the greatest player ever won't hurt the Pats' standing as TOP TWO IN THE LEAGUE.

going to WVU to see my bro tomorrow. Free Drake concert (more importantly.. thrown by Victoria Secret models). Though I dont know a whole lot about Drake (except he's always on the radio).

Have a great time at the game..

Drake makes good music but he sucks live from what I've heard and seen. More of a studio musician than a natural one. Should be plenty of talent there though. Tell Dan I said what's good.

I doubt it, I'll be in DC most likely, it's a great facility though and let me know if you're sticking around the city.

Dahoss 10-06-2010 10:30 AM

So much for Moss not being a misfit.

My uncles company in S. Weymouth and Boston have a box/Pats seasson tickets. I spoke to him this morning, the buzz is the Pats are giving up on the seasson. I am devestated, and dont see how we can compete with the Jets now.

Im not a rat, but Randy Moss is the best football player ever. He makes Welker and Woodshit. HE MAKES THOSE GUYS. How do we score now? Im a realist. We are in trouble

I understand that he opens up the field, blah blah blah. But if it's evident that they aren't going to throw to him or (more likely) that he's just going through the motions, then they are better off served having a guy who will give %100 on each and every play. Not to mention Moss being a cancer/distraction in the clubhouse.
They are 3-1 without him having spectacular numbers. I have enough respect for Bill Belichick as a coach (I know he is a douche) to trust/believe that he has a plan going forward without Moss.

This is Bill being over confident. Its simple, plain and simple. This ends us the Pats. How can they compete with GB, Minnesota and the Jets again. Thats 3 L's. Even if we can sneak into the playoffs, Im not sure we can beat anyone.

It's a good move for the Patriots. To get a 3rd rounder for Moss is a great deal.

Seems like they are building for the next 5 years. That's the time frame they have with Brady.

Looking at their schedule, they are going to be up against it whether they have Randy Moss or not.

I agree. Moss was going to be nothing but a distraction for the rest of the season. It couldn't go on. The fact that he wasn't coming back next year and more importantly their chances of going to the Super Bowl with Moss seem to be very slim this season. Put it all together and it's a no brainer.

While I totally agree with you, I seem to remember being told, more than a few times that he wasn't a distraction at all. That everything was fine in Patriot land....weird.

You're a fan so it's understandable you would overlook the business side of the deal.

They're not winning the Super Bowl this year with or without him. This move gives them something. A 3rd round pick for that guy is a solid deal. It would be a HORRIBLE business decision to give him a 3 year deal. He's not getting any better or younger.
