ML Classic Odds

Gonna be real interesting to see how the board plays out if all the pieces come together for this field. Zenyatta, Quality Road, Blame, Haynesfield, Lookin At Lucky, Fly Down, Richard's Kid, Rachel Al...nevermind, not yet sure of any others pointing but I know more will show. Whats your morning line look like?

On just these horses

Zenyatta 2-1
Blame 3-1
Looking at Lucky 5-1
Haynesfield 8-1
QR 12-1
Richards Kid 15-1
Fly Down 20-1

Can't see Haynesfield be a lower price than QR

Just don't think he can win this race. It seems to be set up for the top three. Of course I have been wrong before.

Travis Stone 10-05-2010 08:28 AM

If you're doing a value line... I put Quality Road at 20-1. I think it'll be really, really tough for him... plus I thought his Woodward looked bad. Morning line though... QR should go lower than Haynesfield I think.

That's fair that you feel he's not going to win the race. I just don't think he's going to be anywhere near 12-1. I think he will be less than both Haynesfield and Luckin at Lucky.
But then again, I have been wrong many times as well.

Your probably right. My odds were more based on my feelings then what the public will say.

hockey2315 10-05-2010 12:27 PM

Lookin At Lucky and Zenyatta were co-favorites on some of the European sites I was looking at yesterday. I think he has to be (and should be) second choice. I've never really liked him, but I'd say right now he's the race's most likely winner just because he's the most consistent besides the overrated one.

The race appears to set up nice for LOL and Zenyatta. Should be a good pace

Why does it set up nice? Where is the speed? Haynesfield showed he can go 1.13 and change, and QR figures to pull a cozy press trip of the NY Bred. Where is the other speed?

Redding Collery - especially if Anna Rosie is going to ride.

So you have 1 real speed. Then Haynesfield....

NTamm1215 10-05-2010 05:04 PM

If the Japanese horse Espoir City comes over he has speed.

Here's a bad video of the JC Dirt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HY4zDP_T4oQ

RockHardTen1985 10-05-2010 05:05 PM

I have been thinking about the Classic speed for a few days now, even talked to Phil about it. As a QR fan, I love Haynesfield.

I have zero memory so excuse me. Has a foreign horse ever won a DIRT Breeders cup race?

Arcangues and Arazi off of the top of my head. Feels like there have been more.

Sheikh Albadou and Johannesburg come to mind off the top of my head.

jms62 10-05-2010 05:30 PM

Have any of them been right off the boat without a US prep?

Giants Causeway was pretty close twice, same with Sakhee.

My guess:

Zenyatta 9/5
Lookin at Lucky 7-2
Blame 7-2
Quality Road 6-1
Haynesfield 8-1
Fly Down 11-1
Richard's Kid 15-1
Redding Colliery 18-1

I believe every horse that has been mentioned so far has won without a prep here, but I'll have to look on Sheik Albadou.

Twice? I thought he only ran here once.

How about Morning Line and and the blinkered First Dude? They pretty much assure that the opening half will be no slower than 47 and change.

No problem. :)

* * *

That was too funny Chuckles. :D

Scroll down just a little and look at the right... the replays are right there.

You can click on the Japan Cup, Mile or QE II and watch all of them.

chucklestheclown 10-05-2010 07:45 PM

If he was the 1 in the race I watched he doesn't have a prayer.

But they are talking about races in November and December 2010. Sorry, that's confusing me.

I think Haynsfield really has zero chance....you just confirmed it.
We have all seen horses outrun their breeding before, i will take a shot this one wont.

chucklestheclown 10-05-2010 07:53 PM

Wow. Vodka's race should be required viewing for any jockey thinking he/she knows what they are doing. ****ing brilliant.
Whoops...I meant ****ing brilliant.

The replays are for previous years... that's why they're listed under archives.

It's just how they arrange their site... putting it all together so yeah they're talking about the upcoming races but they're nice enough to have all the previous editions in one place.

Lemaire replaced Take for that race.

Some of us were pretty damned happy about that. :D

chucklestheclown 10-05-2010 08:17 PM

OK. I got kicked off for taking too long. ECity is OK; the horse that closed behind him was one I would bet on; who was that?

I know Morning Line is going, I have not read anything about First Dude. I have read anything from turf to the BC dirt mile.

Have I lost my mind?

The racecaller says La Verita (nice girl. Actually she was 2nd this past weekend at Hanshin) but i thought Silk Mobius was 2nd. He won his last 2... Tokai something Stakes in the spring and the Breeders Gold Cup this summer (he beat Kane Hekili). Both G2s.

Anyway I just checked and as far as I can see / remember there was no DQ so I'm either hearing things or i don't know what! I think it's Silk Mobius though.

Wonder if Vermilion will go. He's what 8? 9?
