Current diva of the world!

Who would be your selection as of right now... not the end of the year, not after the BC... NOW?

Goldikova?

More Joyous?

Typhoon Tracey?

Hot Danish?

Katie Lee?

Zenyatta? Rachel? (It's weird... it's like having kids where if you say one you have to include the other...).

Blind Luck?

Other and, if so, who?

Just wondering.

* * *

Who will be nominees next year?

My choices are Snow Fairy and Music Show.

Yours?

Arletta 09-30-2010 07:58 PM

In the States: Zenyatta

Southern Hemisphere: More Joyous

my miss storm cat 10-01-2010 11:03 AM

Yea for the one person who has an opinion! :tro:

magic_idol 10-01-2010 02:35 PM

More Joyous is the best we have at this exact Minute....But she is not my Diva & Better than Sunline ?..Not A Chance !!!!!!!:D

_ed_ 10-03-2010 12:39 AM

Katie with a polite reminder that she's one of the Southern Hemisphere's best...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKcN2_tqqAE

But there are so many great fillies and mares in the world at the moment. We're lucky!

_ed_ 10-03-2010 07:48 PM

After this weekend, I give my vote to Goldikova. WOW!

CSC 10-04-2010 09:29 AM

Is More Joyous better than Alinghi was at the same stage of their careers?

my miss storm cat 10-04-2010 02:12 PM

I would say yes.

I want to know what the experts on the other side of the globe think.

She was the one filly that popped into my mind that was similar in talent, Alinghi won 4 gr.1's including a win over Fastnet Rock in 8 career races in Australia, should be an interesting discussion.

Obcourse Makybe Diva stands alone in terms of ultimate diva's from down under.

_ed_ 10-04-2010 07:36 PM

Sunline was up there as well. :)

magic_idol 10-05-2010 04:36 AM

Like tring to match apples with pears,
Very Very different types of horses..
...I'd have to say no , Alinghi pure speed demon

Agreed, they are different, the one thing that stood out to me about Alinghi was her tremendous turn of foot. Poetry in motion.

1998-2002.

48 starts
32 wins (13 G1)
9 seconds
3 thirds

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunline

The greatest horse I've ever seen - by a long, long way.

I just started following Australian racing in 03 when Makybe Diva won her 1st Melbourne Cup, unfortunately I just missed Sunline. Respect your opinion but better than Lonhro?

_ed_ 10-05-2010 09:02 AM

I would say so, yes, definitely.

Here are her two Cox Plates: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEwdlz5YRm0

CSC... was wondering if you had a chance to watch the More Joyous race last night (?)...

I almost had a heart attack. Honestly didn't think she would get up there in time and suddenly... whoooosh!

Late on this, I missed this race SC. One thing I did notice of late some of Gai's horses have not been running blinders. Maybe Idol, Nochance and or Ed can comment on this, but she has had medication problems in her past...The horses she ran on the Melbourne Cup card were lacklustre in performance and looked less than Waterhouse like.

What time does this race go off (centRal time)?w

my miss storm cat 03-24-2011 05:30 PM

It took me forever to find where it says the time of the race. :D

http://www.risa.com.au/racebooks/Moo...lley_25032011/
(pg. 70-71 just incase it goes back to pg. 1).

OKay if it's at 9:30 pm there that's 3:30 am here (I think. With the time change they're now 18 hrs ahead of pst?) so 5:30 am where you are. Gee is this right? :wf
