Isn't Desormeaux hurt?
|
Why, is Oscar Gomez going to get the mount if and when she comes back to Belmont?

Today: Partly cloudy and windy. Very warm. High 88F. Winds SW at 20 to 30 mph.
High Stakes Player (AP Indy colt) placed in race 1 allowance behind the fav Sir Gusta . ![]() entries http://www.equibase.com/static/entry...10USA-EQB.html replays scroll down http://fingerlakesracetrack.com/new-...se-racing.aspx They refurbished the track last Wed and Thurs and it seems to be playing a little faster . It is yielding some surprising results this last week. So if you're looking for track stats I'd use races run in the last week . BOL |
Why is he running this horse for peanuts at FL again? I mean the horse ran well on the dirt at Toga. How about chasing a purse Tim?

I'm surprised they are offering show wagering on this race.
there is a bridgejumper in this race as 41k of 51k in show pool is on LBT |
Quote:
the pool doesnt add up correct though, must be a twin spires error as each other horse has under 1k to show on them. 1 -279 2-44615 3- 256 5- 425 6 - 214 edit: the correct show amount is 57k of 58k according to live feed |

Time to put this silly story to rest.

exactly - it really was a non-story to begin with. |
I wonder if he wishes he sold. The offer of 500k seemed a little unrealistic, but he might have been able to get low six figures for her.

I was hoping she'd win and become a heavy favorite next week...I'm going to guess he isn't going to try a bigger race anymore after this race?

Oscar Gomez was trying way too hard. He absolutely rode the hair off of her early to keep her close to a pace setter who - from a pace figure standpoint - runs graded stakes caliber like first quarters and always stops. The whole race was filled with speedball stoppers.
You can blame the trainer for riding an 8% jock at Finger Lakes and not recognizing the race shape. If the trainer simply tells his jock "everyone in this field is capable of running a spectacular opening quarter. They can all go 21 and change on the lead -without urging - on a track that's no faster than par. Don't panic at all if they're sharper than you away from the gate. They'll knock heads - they have no other choice - you stay out of it. Own the final quarter mile! That's the important thing, they'll all hit a wall at the quarter pole and so will you if you gun her after they outquick you from the gate" He tells his rider that - and she wins going away. Instead, he guns up two lengths off of a 21.66 first quarter - that quarter set by the eventual last place finisher - a stopper whom I believe has one of the faster Moss pace figures I've ever seen. |
I hope Zenyatta makes the trip over the rockies so we can get an excuse similar to that.
|
Here's by far the fastest paced horse race Zenyatta has ever been a part of.
It's the only time in her career she's ever run faster early than what is comfortable for her...and she was still a mile back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOz9PnVGsP0 |

I'm saying her trainer is as dumb as you for not instructing his 8% rider - and leaving the tactics up to him. |
who is zenyatta!!??

I'm blaming the trainer for not giving him a clue.
However, he's probably no less clueless than Oscar. |
