Screw TVG

WTF, they can show Belmont and they aren't? How dumb are these people exactly.

Snot is trying to finish that course, but nice of you to encourage him.

TVG has always been up the track as a betting site and racing network. The sad thing is that DIRECT and Fox Regional Sports carries TVG and HRTV is pretty much invisible unless you have DISH.

If anybody is interested in switching to DISH send me a PM and I can save you $50.

Coach Pants 09-11-2010 02:30 PM

Send me your e-mail address and I can save you money with internet coupons and por...err just coupons.

Still waiting.

Just thayin'.

randallscott35 09-11-2010 05:01 PM

BHorse finally picked up on this. NYRA is rightfully unhappy with the empty suit at TVG. Give me a ****ing break, with this not enough time to show these races. Even on tape delay?

"So basically, we had no choice. We can’t show every race. We only have 60 minutes in an hour. It wouldn’t make sense to show 16 or 18 races in an hour. We wouldn’t be doing a service to anyone by doing that.”

I guess every one tunes in to see and play Todd Schrup's pick 4 plays and various other touts on the channel. If they really wanted to do everyone a service, they would cut out all the crap and just show races (either live or on replay).
They have a racing channel and honestly said it wouldn't make sense to show 16 races an hour. Just unbelievable...... :zz:

That's right....Ken Rudulph's idiocy is more important than actually showing races. And people wonder why this sport in its current form is doomed.

Coach Pants 09-11-2010 05:17 PM

Everyone tunes in to see Midget Matt on :58 Flat

i can't stand to watch that show.

PatCummings 09-11-2010 08:18 PM

They touted the Kentucky Cup Turf all week, with the return of Cloudy's Knight, etc...and then...

Boom.

No Kentucky Downs, not all day. They talked about the whole Cloudy's Knight story during practically every show...

Then, not only did they not show the race, they didn't talk about it at all...not go online, not tape delay, nothing. As a network, it just makes no sense.

my miss storm cat 09-11-2010 08:45 PM

The only track i played today was Belmont and this sucked.

It was okaaay though cause, even though I had a crap day, I wisely spent a long-ass time capping the Centaur Stakes at Hanshin tonight.

Ya know, the 6th race in the God damned Global Sprint Challenge?

It's a pretty important race and, for some, kinda the trial for the Sprinters Stakes.

Anyway I just went to put in my plays.

I don't need to continue. You know the rest.

**** TVG.

Alan07 09-11-2010 09:08 PM

Pat, HRTV picked up Ky. Downs.

deltagulf 09-12-2010 10:05 AM

speaking of not showing i heard capital otb didn't show arlington park races yesterday. so tvg is not alone
it was on capital otb live stream schedule

JBJake 09-12-2010 10:10 AM

TVG should start a 2 hour segment with Matt Carothers(sp?) and all of his thoughts on the day of racing!!

you can sign up without depositing. you can't bet, but you can get the live video. i know my balance has been down to almost nothing, and i could still watch.
i don't understand why, in the age of satellites, people let cable hamstring them.

as an aside, i really wish you could pick and choose your channels. you'd think they wouldn't still go by the package...

I have tried to watch the video and it always gives me a screen telling me that I have to wager a certain amount in a certain period in order to view it.

really? well i'll be. that sucks.

Storm Cadet 09-12-2010 01:11 PM

Me too...I need NYRA One account to start showing live video instead of the 3 minute replay stuff. Damn even Steve Byk's replay is about a six second delay when he is on the air!:zz:

NoLuvForPletch 09-12-2010 01:52 PM

it's back on today

Indian Charlie 09-13-2010 08:05 AM

Let's also not show the only good track running right now.

joeydb 09-13-2010 08:49 AM

Their (TVG) XM or Sirius feed is frustrating also when listening in the car, as they do not read out payouts like Steve does.

I hear the race and then that "wind sound effect" and "Here's your prices...on to the next race"

These people can't get television right, you really expect them to be competent on radio?

Coach Pants 09-13-2010 09:10 AM

They don't have enough time to give prices. They need to show you the Weaverettes and Greg Wolf channeling George Michael.

You actually tune in your radio to LISTEN to TVG? I mute the sound to watch the races and even then I cant take all the screen time they give Todd"TeaBag" Shlup.
