So anyone think if she wins out that Blind Luck could be Horse of the Year?

MaTH716 08-23-2010 10:13 AM

Indian Charlie is in the can, he asked me to post this for him,

Zenyatta.

Clip-Clop 08-23-2010 10:15 AM

Oh yeah, forgot about her...

clyde 08-23-2010 10:16 AM

So...no.

pweizer 08-23-2010 10:25 AM

I love Blind Luck. I think she is the best three year old in training. But she has not shot to be horse of the year.

I'll let Dala be the judge of that

My Feather Flies.

The Indomitable DrugS 08-23-2010 12:31 PM

She would have to win out... and Mine That Bird would have to win the BC Classic by 7 lengths and register his first top 3 finish of the entire year in the process for her to have a good chance.

I dont think she wins out, she can be had at Philly if DMC comes back OK. 7-9 Furlongs is her game.
She wont win the distaff, is she really that much better then L@T or even that Mott filly who has almost the same beyers.
That much better? Is she better at all?

letswastemoney 08-23-2010 01:02 PM

Well isn't that Delaware beyer speed figure Blind Luck earned indeterminable? Who knows how fast she can really be...?

Clip-Clop 08-23-2010 01:19 PM

The dramatic closing fashion she uses to win should really help her chances.
If only Jerry could teach her to dance before the races.
One of the Euros could come in and win the Classic, no?
Not sure how fast she is, she runs to the level of her competition almost every time out.

Sightseek 08-23-2010 01:24 PM

THUD!

Thunder Gulch 08-23-2010 01:28 PM

Doubt seriously Blind Luck has much of a chance if she sticks to the traditional filly path through the Breeders Cup, and I don't think she is good enough to consider stepping up against older males. I don't think that is even under realisic consideration...she does have a firm hold on her division now and it will take DMC winning out to steal it.

Clip-Clop 08-23-2010 01:33 PM

Out of curiosity, could anybody tell me her last quarter mile time? She was 4? lengths off of a slow mile and the last 1/4 was listed at 24.6. Where does that put her final 1/4?

The Indomitable DrugS 08-23-2010 02:17 PM

Video of Blind Luck "running to her competitions level" in her 4.5 furlong debut race.

Don't make Rupert whip out his workout analogy again.

It was meant to be a joke.

The Indomitable DrugS 08-23-2010 02:43 PM

I know.

The Indomitable DrugS 08-23-2010 02:45 PM

$1,700,000 weanling Mi Sueno's final start.

http://www1.drf.com/displayVideo.do?...=D&country=USA

First foal of the great female sprinter Madcap Escapade beats Blind Luck. Never runs again after this race.

Eric Guillot has repeatedly said that Mi Sueno would have been the best 3YO filly this year.

I interviewed him the week before the Test and he said she would've crushed Blind Luck and DMC by open lengths. . . Obviously he'd say that. He also said plenty of other off-the-wall stuff.

He's definitely a colorful guy and I wouldn't be surprised by anything he said. He said what I mentioned above in an interview where he said Champagne D'Oro should have won the Prioress.

He was fun to talk to and I think they're finally reaping the rewards of all the spending they've done. They bred the sale topper at the last two big sales.

As long as she isn't trained by Eric Guillot ... I would certainly agree.

I would also agree with this.

I would have to agree with those that say BL is actually better on dirt (seems to be true). I would argue that 7F is not her best distance and she still was right there.
