Another Obama brilliant move
this time by the world traveler Michele, these fools haven't a clue! But it's so fun watching them tumble

The $4.5 billion Senate bill would expand eligibility for school meal programs, establish nutrition standards for all food sold in schools and provide a 6-cent increase for each school lunch to help cafeterias serve healthier meals. The $8 billion House version includes more money for expanding access to school lunches for children in low-income households.
yeah, sounds like evil incarnate. i'm surprised dell, that you're not supportive of food stamp funding cuts in conjunction with this. |

and are kids of illegals going to be included in the free, healthy lunches?
Because then The Pres can boast he took from the poor to give to illegals. Run on that platform..... |
Are you people expecting a miracle from this imbecile who is ruining this country everyday?

Geez couldn't someone have told him to say 'while the U.S. constitution ensures Muslms the right to build a mosque on private property I would suggest they be more sensitive to the families of 911 victims and not build near ground zero.' I know he doesn't have it in him but in this case perhaps he should have brought out the teleprompter he's so fond of and read it. |

If it was a GOP idea to cut food stamps, Riot would be 1-9 to be on the warpath.
Of course I was told by her that food stamps were actually economic stimulus so i guess this will hurt the economy... |

If you're of the mind that the govt. helping the poor eat is a bad idea altogether, then surely they're a bad idea -- but if we're providing social services to poor people, then food stamps are excellent as it provides food, helps local businesses, and goes back to those providing and shipping the food. It's a very solid social service program. |

The food providers are in most cases already getting paid by the govt, in many cases to not produce food. |

It's not petty, and perfectly important to point out that if anyone is of the mind that all social welfare of any kind is wasteful, then of course they're bad ideas. Not meant as a dig at you -- those people are out there, and they're here on this board too, as we've seen a million times. You're arguing a case that I'm not really making, but I may be making myself rather unclear. Naturally lots of government provided programs like that are not actually "sustainable" and "stimulative," but given the other ways that our government does hand out cash to people, food stamps are actually good and help the economy. In helping people afford to eat, that money gets put back into circulation and has an effect long past the person eating food. |
Quote:
Stimulus in an economic sense: •Economic aid granted by a government to citizens and/or industry to try and spur growth within the economy. Food stamps dont spur growth. |

So "if" you're of the mind that govt. helping poor people at is a bad idea is what I said. Apparently you're not, so that portion no longer applies to you. No need to get all defensive about it and call a completely reasonable "if" "petty." |

of course for people with disabilities I have a completely supportive view. |

Because they who buy the food stamps invest? |

You're ignoring facts again. LAKE GENEVA is getting a grant!!! Kids around here are Colorado healthy and Burlington/everywhere else in WI maybe could use it but let's sink our heads into the sand (i'll loosen it up w/the Cobalt) and pretend. |

These kids parents are a bright bunch and that money saved on fruit for say Penny Pritzgers kids could become a new Hyatt, fully staffed. Maybe we can stop all food stamps and just give it to the rich to invest. More wrigley gum plants, more investments with dreyfuss and more stays at hyatt. As my friend Brockguy would say 'brilliant!' You own 'Village Idiot' you know that don't you? |

And the median household income in Lake Geneva is about $50,000, I'd imagine. But you know that, right? |

LMAO and then some!!!!!! See what a 'timeshare' at the Cove will run you! Rezko's 2bdroom condo at Stone Manor went for 1.1 million and the roof leaked. |
