Early Travers Field?

Any probables out yet?

Indian Charlie 08-11-2010 11:20 PM

Screw the probables.

I'm waiting for the straight trifecta to be released soon here.

RockHardTen1985 08-11-2010 11:20 PM

Trappe Shot
Admiral ALEX
A Little Warm
Fly DOWN

randallscott35 08-11-2010 11:21 PM

I thought Trappe Shot was going to cut back.

NO decision yet; McLaughlin doesn't seem overly keen on taking on Discreetly Mine.........at least that's basically what he said.

I assume Miner's Reserve would go as well, but still nothing from Nick yet.

I hope they bet D Mine off the board in the King's Bishop based on his 6.5f time and Beyer.
God I hope Jerkens enters Afleet Express.
I will bet him HEAVY...;):$:

If Zito has a rabbit for Ice Box - now is the time to use it.

Depends on whether NYRA wants the track to play fair or not. I'm thinkin', after the Whitney DEBACLE, they're likely to go back to what 'works': SPEED FAVORING.

Very fast dirt tracks - in general - are among the most deep closer friendly kind of tracks - and you see more total pace meltdown on those kind of tracks than any other.

If the track is souped up and playing very fast - it would likely only help a deep closer like Ice Box.

The slower and more tiring tracks typically favor speed more because jockeys tend to ride them much less aggressively. The opposite happens in souped up dirt tracks.

The most inside-speed biased track in the country right now is at Presque Isle. That place makes the old Keeneland dirt track look like a ridiculously fair race track.

He is supposed to be there. Supposedly Dutrow worked him with Rail Trip and out-finished him if you can believe the IEAH propaganda.

clyde 08-12-2010 11:39 AM

What?...no makemusic4me??

didn't he try to do the same thing with fly down?

damn rabbit almost won the race while fly down was mia

The Indomitable DrugS 08-12-2010 11:51 AM

Miner's Reserve was certainly not being used as a rabbit in the Jim Dandy. He's got a different owner than Fly Down - and he was in there to win the race.

tjfla 08-12-2010 12:31 PM

Confirmed

Super Saver
First Dude
Pleasant Prince
A Little Warm
Admiral Alex
Trickmeister

Probable

Trappe Shot (Either here or King's Bishop-Kieran said wants no part of Discreetly Mine tho)
Afleet Express
Miner's Reserve
Friend or Foe
Concord Point (With LaL out he is Baffert's Plan B with Garcia aboard)
Ice Box (With the Frenchman)

Possible

Fly Down
American Lion
Golden Moka (Winner of Prince of Wales)

Sightseek 08-12-2010 12:34 PM

Last night on Facebook, Charly's page said he is going to be out for a while with a bone bruise.

tjfla 08-12-2010 12:35 PM

Guess he is out then:D

Should be a big field no matter what

Best line about Trickmeister is he is going wire to wire and he will wear down First Dude!! Gotta love IEAH

No problem-probably is 1 or 2 more horses considering the Travers but no idea, those are only ones I have seen so far. Add Golden Moka,no clue about the horse other than 10-1 winner of Prince of Wales

Were you saying there that Julien Leparoux is going to ride Ice Box? I like that change a lot.

NT

The Indomitable DrugS 08-12-2010 01:32 PM

I don't - Lezcano's a perfect fit.

Lezcano is riding this meet like garbage and has been horrible at Saratoga in the last two years. I'm not saying he's ridden Ice Box poorly thus far but I'll take Leparoux on a horse from off the pace over him.

That is the plan if Ice Box runs. Leparoux gets the mount

Lezcano still has the mount of Fly Down if he runs

NT

I hear ya. Lezcano is one of the 5 or 6 jockeys on earth I actually like - and while Lep isn't bad .. he gets bet a tiny bit. It's only a slightly negative switch that won't make much of a difference - but it will be perceived as a positive one by a lot of bettors.

After First Dude's last race...i think they finally need to just go in a 1x.

tjfla 08-13-2010 12:15 PM

It looks like Miner's Reserve will be Out and Ice Box/Fly Down In if Zito has his way.

Zito says they gotta find a new jockey for him and he doesn't think Miner's Reserve can do anything with First Dude,Trickmeister and A Little Warm out front

tjfla 08-20-2010 01:05 PM

Afleet Again and Steinbeck were mentioned as possible by the NYRA and Zito will choose which 2 out of his 3 will run on Sat.(Ice Box and either Fly Down or Miner's Reserve)
