I didn't know Buzzword (winner of the G1 Deutsches Derby) was possible.

Very cool!

QT won't come unless turf is rock hard. If there's any give in the ground, won't run.

edit - Wigmore Hall, who beat Chabal today at Newmarket, now definite.

And General Quarters needs some give to run.

Twirling Candy - where did that come from? After his last race I made a joke to a friend that they should send him to the Secretariat next, would love to see him in there.

When I think of Candy Ride, I'm not thinking 10 furlongs on the turf. He should be 40/1 in Secretariat. I would even bet Workin for Hops before this comedy horse.

I thought General Quarters was hurt?

For the most part, but we had a pretty long dry spell where it was rock hard, got drenched last week so it is in great shape

unless it's dry for 2 weeks, yes (and they're calling for thunderstorms basically every day next week).

Can't wait to see what price Wigmore Hall goes off at - he is one that will float big time under the radar!

No Tuscan Evening, that just made the day worthwhile.

After looking what the Mighty Arlington has planned in the condition book for that day, I was going to forgo my boxes and just go up and bet the P4/P3 and watch from home, it at least makes it interesting now.

Could this be part of the fix for Dick to win his late wife's namesake, she will surely be overplayed now.

I meant in terms of gambling, which is really what this sport is about.

I think I am the last person to be targeted as a horse hater, comedy girl

I'll bet the 40-1. Twirling Candy is a solid horse.

40-1? Your not serious, are you?

I already know I'll be cursing Gio Ponti.

For winning LOL

10 furlongs people, 10 furlongs, this isn't a mile race

The horse has three total races under his belt and two of them are sprinting.

He isn't coming here so it is pointless, but IMO he has absolutely no shot of getting 10 furlongs on the lawn right now.

Scav 08-11-2010 03:42 PM

Million took a hit today, but with the Tuscan Evening departure, the Bev D has alot more signing on, including Romancaca, who won't be ridden by Junior Alvarado.

Not sure on the Bev D field but the others seem solid.

Worst Million field evah?

clyde 08-11-2010 03:51 PM

The 22nd is not quite long enough....what about in September or very late August....anything good?

They don't want me at ST's...and Chicago is closer anyways.

I am sure you know plenty of track HO's who would want to fucl< someone famous.

rsvp me.

Pretty much, but a great betting race. Gio Ponti is probably 4/1 ML, will get pounded by comedy fans but a good betting race

The only walkover looks like the Secretariat.

Whose list is that? Doubles Partner hasn't worked since June and Interactif is entered in the Hall of Fame.

i grabbed it from somewhere. I'll delete those two

As of today, as far as I know, Tizaqueena is listed as a probable, Princess Haya listed as a possible. Gypsy's Warning probable, Ave probable. Phola out.

Hockley out, Two Notch Road probable, Dean's Kitten probable, Twirling Candy probable, Cherokee Lord possible. And believe Alcomatch is out.

Should have thought of Tizaqueena now being IN since Tuscan out.

You like Cherokee Lord? I can't tell if you're joking. I've had a minor love affair with that horse since he started his career and he always runs his eyes out, even when apparently overmatched.

ps, I updated my post shortly after you responded with some other info, too.

I love those two speed balls in the race, and they aren't cheap.

I only like Cherokee Lord from a personal side because he is outrunning his pedigree, otherwise, I can care less.

Gotcha -- though he was actually pretty solid when taking off the pace last time, so that was good to see. Don't think he's a real player in there if he goes, but he keeps outperforming expectations and could land a small share if all goes well at another big price.

There is only one player in that race, but the exotics will pay great when Hops is off the board or 4th

I know, I know, he can't get 9.5 furlongs, let alone 10
