DEL R1:

strange betting in this race. the 3 is ABSOLUTELY LOOSE in a four horse race, yet he's 5:1, with the 6 at 6:5 and the 1 at 3:5. I can understand the 6 running the 3 down but going 5.5F I'll take my chances with the lone speed.

exacta: 3 / 6

The exactas with the 3 on top are (relatively) huge.

EDIT: the 6 is now (back to) 1:2 and the 1 is 9:5.

RockHardTen1985 08-02-2010 12:11 PM

Monday, Early PICK 4

8/4,5,6,8,9,10/2/2,3,4,8 $4 $96

6,8/4,5,6,8,9,10/2/2,3,4,8 $1 $48

the_fat_man 08-02-2010 12:17 PM

Lovely. The 6 duels with the 3 and they set it up for the 1.

the_fat_man 08-02-2010 12:26 PM

WO R2:

not much in this race and the favorite, #8, doesn't scare me.
good race to take a shot at a price.

#7, Soir Noir, win @ >= 20:1

otherwise

exacta: 7 / 3, 5

the_fat_man 08-02-2010 12:38 PM

What might've been. Good run at 24:1.

DEL R2:

#7, Daniel Moon, should be able to handle these off the cutback. #4, Pistol Rules, likeliest 2nd horse, though I supposed we also have to use the 2, Nervous Marvin, Lake's horse, presently the favorite. I don't like the 8, a turf sprinter stretching out and adding blinkers, that is also taking money.

Exacta: 7 / 2, 4

Tri: 7 / 4 / 2

the_fat_man 08-02-2010 12:49 PM

The 8 and the 9 were both coming out of turn sprints and the 8 was adding blinkers YET the 2 is allowed to get away with a 24.4 1st quarter going 7.5F. The Lake magic.

7 just noses out the 4 for 2nd.

Wager Type Winning Numbers Paid
$1.00 Exacta 2-7 $10.60
$1.00 Trifecta 2-7-4 $56.60

Nothing like leaving a ton of money on the table. Ridiculously good TRI.

the_fat_man 08-02-2010 01:11 PM

I did, thanks.

I even had him in the contest to break an 0 for 13 start. :zz:

tiggerv 08-02-2010 01:13 PM

Nice job Fats, glad the Pletcher rat got beat at least.

My horse must not have gotten enough Hushion juice.

the_fat_man 08-02-2010 01:14 PM

TY. Was lucky to get a perfect ride by Dominguez.

I'm heavily invested in him in the Pick 4. I have one backup with the Barbara entry but I have nothing on the Dutrow which will probably burn me.

I don't get it. He wasn't 10-1 or higher. What's the point of an odds threshhold then?

Even if it chalks here I do ok, Im live to 4 horses for $5.

tiggerv 08-02-2010 01:49 PM

It must be nice to have Repole money and be able to drop expensive horses into claimers to get wins.

Do not ever call TFM out, he has his system AND IT WORKS.

Very nice RHT. I put together a dumb ticket structure so I am alive to four horses but for only a $1. I'll basically break even unless I can get the 7 home.

If you get the 7 home, I lose. Good luck though, I hope one of us wins. If I hit this, Im playing a big late pick 4.

I don't think he was calling him out. It's a very fair question. What's the point of specifing a play based on odds then?

hockey2315 08-02-2010 01:57 PM

Your falling for the 7? I dont like the 7. Its like everyones love horse, Im sure its cause Serling touts him.

It's what I set my conditional wagering for @ 0 minutes to post time. I anticipate horses going up or down. In this case, at the time I bet, I anticipated the horse going up, as it was consistently 9:1.

When it got hit, but not hit significantly, I overrode the constraint. It's pretty much a coin toss for these cases. Sometimes I don't get my odds and they win; others they lose.

Nothing furtive about it at all. I was asked after the race if I'd bet the horse, and, in this case I had.

hockey2315 08-02-2010 02:06 PM

Thanks for the intelligent and cordial response.

Well that boosts what little confidence I had.

It's more like I don't like the others and don't want the 7 to get a pace to stumble into.

pointman 08-02-2010 02:08 PM

Taking a shot at some bombs in the 6th, using DD and pk3 to try to get it.

Spa 5

$1 pk3

5- 4,7,8
6- 5,6
7- 1,2,3

$5DD
4/5,6

the_fat_man 08-02-2010 02:10 PM

Delaware - Race 5
# Win Place Show
6 $17.00 $6.80 $5.20
10 . $3.60 $3.80
4 . . $10.40

Wager Type Winning Numbers Paid
$1.00 Exacta 6-10 $25.70

Got lucky with this one as the jock got me in a speed duel. But the 10, the chalk, is a HANGER and couldn't get by. Left money on the table by not playing exactas here but I was too busy 'explaining' my method and also didn't really want to **** with a 7:1 shot.
