That's about what he's worth. I noticed in 'capping the race that he was not gelded. I'd have tried that before a $20k tag.

I've seen some bad A. P. Indy's ....
![]() Considering who trained that horse ... it's safe to assume he ended up on the dinner table of this guy.... ![]() |

Deflation in action

For what its worth, I think I would rather have the baby in the second for 50k.
|
Two year old claimers are almost always over valued. Of course the Chief dropped Kelly Kip into a MDCL for his debut, but most of the $50k stuff you'll see at the Spa can be bought over the winter for $20K or far less.

You figure he just claimed the horse for $20,000 for a top client so why run him back and disappoint ? The track itself is speed favoring as most all dirt tracks are . But it's not speed biased . It's fair imo . It'll be a interesting race. |
what about Work who was with Baffert owned by Jim McIngvale, they paid 950k for him. Baffert said he was as talented as anything he ever had and was supposed to be his main Derby horse. Work apparently was hurt, never was the same and ended up a claimer horse
There are a ton of AP Indy's, well bred, expensive auction horses the Sheik gave away for pennies on the dollar to make some space. Alot of em race on the 2nd tier circuits. |

He's up for a $15k tag tomorrow ....SCRATCH
http://www.equibase.com/static/entry...EQB.html#RACE6 Correction to post # 1. Dam Pure Symmetry (AP Indy - Serena's Song/Storm Cat) sold for $1.4 mil not his 1/2 American Song. |
Even for the best breeding stock, something like 40% of the foals are unraced or unplaced. And the best sires rarely get more than 15% SWs over time, and 6% is considered pretty decent. Genetic lottery. Have to do something with the losers.

How about Mideast Beast, a son of Giant's Causeway homebred for Zayat who debuted at Delaware in Oct, as a 2yo for a $20k tag. Patricia Farro took him and ran him back in NY at a mile for $25k and he lost by 14l. Today he's back in for $16.
Also, I mentioned above than 2yo's in the summer are overpriced. Two of Mideast Beast's rivals ran over the summer: Read the Email debuts at SAR in a MSW then ran back for $75k, running 3rd. Today he drops to $16k. Goodnight Brad debuted at $35k at Saratoga and was beaten by 12. He's already lost badly for $16k. MDCL races at this time of year are littered with horses that were way overpriced over the summer, still looking for the maiden win and not worth a deuce for $15k. |

Unless its Zenyatta she knows that she is the queen, per Penny Chenery. She knows that people love her per Ann Moss. And she knows imported beer vs. domestic per Sherriff's. You would assume she knows she only sold for 60kish. Do they have AA for horses and more importantly do you think her foal will be born with DT's if they dont get her off the stuff? |
