NBA Draft/trades

http://www.nba.com/2010/news/06/24/w...s=iref:nbahpt2

The NBA

where you can give away a guy who goes 13-3-5 lifetime and a number one pick for an undisclosed 2nd round pick......and everybody thinks it is a great deal for you!!!

LOL

Ah the intricacies of the Salary Cap

Chicago and Miami are setting themselves up to strike it rich.

The Knicks and Dala's mancrush Donnie Walsh? notsomuch...

Am I just a beaten down, pessimistic knicks fan when I think that they are going to net Joe Johnson and Carlos Boozer and a few clowns instead of a real difference maker???

Cannon Shell 06-24-2010 05:01 PM

Cannonshell.com underrated move of the season

Daequan Cook to Okla City for nada. Could there be a team that needed a one dimensional three point shooter more than Okie City? Sure he wont score more than 7 or 8 a game but his shooting meshes perfectly with their offense and he makes squat. Obviously not a ground breaking move but the kind that could win you a game or two in the playoffs next year.

Cannon Shell 06-24-2010 07:47 PM

Utah picked a white guy.

Cannon Shell 06-24-2010 08:10 PM

Why are the ESPN guys ignoring the story that this pick is for Washington?

Cannon Shell 06-24-2010 08:12 PM

Why am I talking to myself?

ateamstupid 06-24-2010 08:28 PM

The Avery Bradley pick hints at a blow-up unfortunately.

Cannon Shell 06-24-2010 08:30 PM

Why do I think Okie City just got like the number 3 pick in the 2012 draft for a backup point guard?

He cant start if Allen leaves can he? Isnt that a huge dropoff even if allen is only a one way player at this point?

Cannon Shell 06-24-2010 08:35 PM

This might be the worst draft ever...

at least in terms of buzz. Even Jay Bilas seems to be mailing it in. He hasn't gotten hysterical and started making up words even once. I do think he said 'lengthability" though

Cannon Shell 06-24-2010 08:41 PM

Portland fires their GM prior to the draft and then lets him make the picks???

What???

I'd draft Scavs if they did this to me.

With the 22nd pick in the 2010 draft The Portland Trailblazers select Shooting Guard Tom "Scavs" Rothstein from Southern Illinois.

Jay Bilas- I have no idea who this guy is but I like the pick. Rothstein has stoutability and his 2 inch vertical is better than it looks

Jeff Van Gundy- What are they doing? I could guard that guy!!!

Cannon Shell 06-24-2010 08:48 PM

Here is how bad this draft is. The Pacers took a guy with the 10th pick who was 2nd team all WAC last year as a sophomore. The 10th best player in the draft couldnt make 1st team in the WAC? ok

Huge dropoff. I'm not a fan of tweeners like him. Even if he can reproduce Ray's shooting, he's way too small to guard most twos and he and Rondo would be the worst FT shooting backcourt in NBA history. His best shot is to be Nate's replacement and be a better shooting backup for Rondo.

ateamstupid 06-24-2010 09:28 PM

Tiny Gallon and Magnum Rolle are my two second-round sleepers, and not just because they have cool names. Jerome Randle too. I don't understand why he doesn't get more publicity. He's tiny, but he's insanely fast and a terrific shooter. Reminds me of Iverson with better passing ability.

Cannon Shell 06-24-2010 09:38 PM

Do you think that the 3 Kings fans they are showing are actual fans or are they "paid" fans like the North korean fans at the World Cup?

ARyan 06-24-2010 09:41 PM

Okay, let me just say, I heavily dislike the NBA, but I do follow ACC basketball due to the fact I went to Clemson, and follow all Tiger sports like a diehard.

So what do you NBA experts think of Booker heading to Washington?

It's way easier to manhandle college PFs than NBA ones, but he's a good jumper so he might be able to overcome being an undersized 4. I think he's a poor man's Paul Millsap. He'll hang around the NBA because of his athleticism and strength, but there's nothing that special about his game to make him a starter IMO.

I cant even keep track of who Washington has anymore. I dont think Booker is good enough to get much time in the NBA. Has skills of a guy who needs to be 6'10" and he measured at 6'7".

Draftexpress has him listed at 6'7" 215.

You know what kills guys like this is they cant shoot FT's. As an undersized guy he should be able to use his quickness and athleticism to draw fouls from bigger slower players. But what good does it do when you are shooting 50% from the line.

Cannon Shell 06-24-2010 10:07 PM

the German guy just got traded like 12 times.

horseofcourse 06-24-2010 10:08 PM

Nevada really had two players good enough to be drafted this year and couldn't even dominate or win the mighty WAC?? That coach must stink.

I agree, this might be the worst draft ever. There isn't a player in this draft where if I were a GM I would "have to have" him. Even the top 5 are not special players at all. I mean, Derrick Favors, other than the Duke game, did he have a memorable game all season? Evan Turner was a great college player I like him a lot- and his shot to beat Mich was awesome, but is he a bona fide NBA All-Star which is what you should get with the #2 pick in the draft? Seems like he's the kind of guy they always beat on come draft day for not having NBA skills. Paul George is mediocre at best. Someone compared him to Danny Granger- he ain't even close to that.

They lacked the depth they usually have, had a new coach, and the WAC was pretty tough this year with NMSU and Utah State in there. No shame in a T-2nd in that league.

He's heavier than that. Closer to 240.

That kid from Butler really went 9th? Do the Jazz hate black people or are they just retarded?

Only if you spot him a trampoline.

Biggest sleeper of the draft:

Daniel Orton.. it may take a few years, but I think this kid can play.

Iverson was a terrific shooter? maybe he was but he threw up a ton of bad shots.

Doesnt matter though, he's still my favorite basketball player of all time!! :{>:

Evan Turner is going to be the best player on his team.. though that might not be saying much.

Do you even remember those teams he played on in Philly? Exactly who else was going to score if he didn't shoot all the time? Aaron McKie? Tyrone Hill? George Lynch? Jumaine Jones? Of course he took some "bad shots," but he was the only source of offense for the Sixers for the bulk of his career.

of course he was. He was the only guy with talent. He hustled more than anyone I've ever watched in sports.

I have just never heard anyone call him a terrific shooter before..

It's just about impossible for someone who's relied on for that much offense to end up with a high shooting percentage, but he wouldn't have been as good as he was if he couldn't shoot. His tiny ass sure wasn't getting all those points on lay-ups.

As it were, I didn't even say he was a terrific shooter. I said Randle was, and that his overall game reminds me of Iverson's.

GBBob 06-25-2010 08:36 AM

I know me posting here is unusual, but Bulls trade Heinrich and clear another $9 Million in cap space. Joe Johnson looks like a done deal ( is that a good thing?), but the Lebron rumors are running rampant right now.

he does hold the alltime technical foul record

That is really good for Boston. That 6 million can be better spent

If we let Ray go I see no reason we can't sign a max player.

They will still be over the cap. Dont forget that KG, PP and Rondo make 49 mill between them next year. Add Big baby's 3 and Perkins 6 and you are already over the cap.
