World Cup 2010
It's gonna be great. Netherlands and Italy for me.
I will be hoping that the USA beat the English this Saturday - that would be brilliant.. |

Can you ever go wrong picking Brazil? Don't you pretty much have a 50-50 shot doing that? That's my entire base of soccer knowledge.

I was wondering when you would show up Ian :) How far do you think IN-GRRRRR-LAND will go? |
Im hoping South Africa can tie or beat Mexico today. Likely not to happen. Tomorrow it will be interesting to see what the USA has for England.

So let me get this straight...for the next month all the world watches either live or in person this World Cup thing...what the hell is with all the buzzing sounds? They let all the African bees out at once. Even the World Cup execs there live have EAR PLUGS in for chrissakes...if it's the most watched sport...people must have it on MUTE!

If im a Mexican team supporter I would be embarrassed with the draw to South Africa. Myself on the other hand is extremely pleased with the result. The Mexicans aren't going to get the home stadium calls like they are used to getting. Also there wasnt no fans throwing stuff on the field like the Mexicans did when the USA was in Mexico for a game.

I actually picked a winner in every game. I can plainly see that's a losing strategy.

green means go..al.

I don't know anything about soccer, but couldn't a 9 year old have stopped the US goal that game? Are wins always this rare in soccer? We're under a 50 percent rate for getting winners in games so far.
|
at least Obama was in the gambling mode (best US beer against best English ale).... tie so nobody won, but at least he picked a side in something and didn't flip-flop!

Yes, it was a disastrous error. I actually could not stop laughing. The British media has been talking non stop about it since the game finished. Some of the headlines in the papers are very funny. Yeah there have been plenty of ties which isnt that unusual. A lot of the teams in their opening games are very aware that a loss would pretty much eliminate them so they do not want to lose. We should see the rate of winners increase as the group stages progress though. |

F'ing F have the games been boring with few exceptions so far. Even the folks on Eurosport are whining about the inactivity.

Movin on up in the Nerdy Trail League.

over/under on number of dives Ronaldo does each game. Im guessing at least seven times would be a good starting point. |
