Kickin would be the only one going and she has to earn enough Tuesday to pay her way there. Though if we can keep getting into 7 horse fields like the one we are in on Tuesday for 18k we may be keeping her in PA. Redboard is tentatively being pointed to a Mdn 40k race going 6 furlongs on May 28th. Missus Mayflower has just started galloping again after her little shin issue.

Wow, 25 starts is pretty impressive (that's five full seasons of racing for some mares we know). ;)

Best of luck to all of you today and to your tough and resilient mare.

Riot 05-18-2010 12:38 PM

Good luck, she looks good in the paddock :tro:

SuffolkGirl 05-18-2010 12:48 PM

2nd - after being the early speed :zz:

ninetoone 05-18-2010 12:48 PM

Good job holding on for 2nd!

pweizer 05-18-2010 12:50 PM

A very solid effort behind a much the best winner. She really dig in for second and refused to be passed.

Paul

Many Others 05-18-2010 12:50 PM

bless her tough little heart lol, did all the heavy lifting in the mud and held that second spot - good job !!

philcski 05-18-2010 12:51 PM

Damn nice run from KNS! That'll pay some training bills...

horseofcourse 05-18-2010 12:51 PM

5-1-4

Pretty decent effort on the lead the whole way. The even money favorite did nothing.

TouchOfGrey 05-18-2010 12:52 PM

Awesome effort!

Nascar1966 05-18-2010 12:56 PM

What a great effort from KNS. This was the first chance that I got to see her race. I am curious as to how she has previously raced in the slop. If today is an indication maybe we all need to do a rain dance the morning of her race. Again a great effort by KNS.

stevepopyak 05-18-2010 01:00 PM

Great job Team Simon !!!

ddthetide 05-18-2010 01:29 PM

great effort for her first slop race! thanks chuck, susan and the rest of team simon.:tro:

I don't believe that she had ever raced in the slop before. We wound up on the lead because there wasn't much speed in the race and we were wanting to get off the inside which is just awful at Philly, especially when it is wet. I was a little afraid of getting her pinned down behind horses and having to stay inside. The way the 5 ran I dont think anything we would have done outside of Dave Blaha running out on the track at the quarter pole and tackling her, would have worked. While she earned enough to pay her way to AP, it is tempting to take another shot at that condition at Philly. I suppose we should see how she comes out of the race before we decide anything. She is far from the most talented horse in the world but she does try her hardest.

Danzig 05-18-2010 01:54 PM

i was able to watch the race at work, and had to leave immediately after. nice run by the game mare. guess she can handle the slop ok. but all her wins are on poly, maybe she can take another run on them eventually. but after today's effort, i can see where staying in pa would be a benefit.

miraja2 05-18-2010 02:04 PM

So that's now ten times she's been in the exacta since you guys got her? That's not too shabby at all.
Congrats.

Needless to say, I'm a big fan of your new avatar.

I think I would. Those purses are nice. She's got a couple 2nds and a 4th in her efforts there. If she could win one of them, it would pay for a lot of things.

Agreed. The Philly purses are crazy and they runs lost of races at her level.

Thanks for the great work with her. KNS is sound as can be and is the pefect DeeTee type horse as she runs frequently and always tries.

Another very solid effort by KnS. She has really filled out nicely since the AC start and Tony commented that she was very focused and ready to run today. I believe she is cycling back into very good form. It wasn't Tonys plan to go to the lead but she took him there without his asking. Gotta love her fight down the lane to hold onto second

BTW - would have considered jumping onto the track if I knew I would not get tazed. ;-)

MM and RBK look great as well. A few pix later when I get back home

I'm thinking she has earned more than everyones else, no? well she makes enough to pay for herself

Arrived just prior to post time so no photos from the paddock. :( Just a couple of shots of RBK and MM back at the barn. All the horses enjoyed some mints. :D

Chuck and his crew have done an outstanding job with Jazzy. For a while she was all we had running and she kept us all in the game. No matter where you send her or what surface she draws (even the bogg at KY Downs ) she gives you a gutsy effort. You really can't ask for more than that. Props to TB also.
