Eskendereya won't go out today again and Endorsement, who was supposed to at least gallop, was left in the barn as well.

D. Wayne Lukas had Dublin work before 6am going 5f in 1:02.4.

Bummer news - I personally know a couple dozen people who are not having a good time this morning hearing this news.

Wow...two years in a row the perceived favorite doesn't make it to the gate.

I was really looking forward to seeing him run. Oh well, at least this didn't happen the morning of the Derby.......

Wow and for all the **** I took about this horse and his condition. And he isn't even going to run.

Terrible news. I thought this was a very special horse and was very much looking forward to his performance next week.

Wow on Eskendereya. Uh oh on Endorsement. Getting left in the barn on the day of a scheduled work can't be a good thing this close to the race.

I think TP's gonna get his KD anyway this year...just a guess.

Maybe 150k earnings might make it after all. Nothing like a Derby full of allowance horses.

sorry to hear this, but, for me it will be a much better betting race now. I liked ESK but was not looking forward to betting 2:1 in a 20 horse field.

I was really looking forward to betting him at 2-1. That would have been a huge overlay in my opinion. Now the race is wide open.

I am particularly sad as I think this horse may have been something special and now we may never know.

Dosnt this make it more likely that more than 1 filly going to the derby? Or does it make sense for the top 3 to cross enter and wait for the draw and then coose the best shot. After all they have invested isnt the extra money a good hedge for them

He confirmed that they are all still too slow.

Is this a lesser known trainer being overly cautious because of the off track?
Doesn't want to have a mishap and not have a Derby starter?

There is some fairly wide speculation of a problem here. By the time of the Derby-Oaks worker window after the harrow break, there was no 'off track'. It was fine. Ritter walked him briefly and then put him away. And WinStar's Bill Casner was totally evasive when asked about the horse. Let's wait it out, but it doesn't seem likely things are 100%.

Derby is pretty sorry this year.

Sorry to hear that, but running the filly is just stupid; she has no chance (and I like her a lot).

Only that the Eskendereya situation made Devil May Care a bit more likely to go Derby. He said he wanted to talk to Mr. Greathouse before saying anything too committal.

Of Interactif, he only said he wasn't crazy about the track for him for a serious work and would wait. If Discreetly Mine came up, I missed it.

Thanks for the info..have futures on Jackson Bend so hoping at least twoof above are a no go...especially with Esky now out

I would love LAL at 3/1 as the fave I think he can easily be beat,now just gotta pick the right horses to toss
