How do you?

How do you move on? From anything, a certain girl? A certain friend, a job? Gambling even? How do you take a break and just stop? I have a hard time, me and my x are driving each other crazy and I know I need to be done, but I dont, I call her and email her 50 times a day, she does the same. I hate my job and I know I need a new one, but I stay. My best friend from highschool is selfish, I know I need to be done with him but I still chill with him. Gambling, Im at a point where I just got smashed in the NCAA tourny and I know I need a break, but I still bet. Any advice? Can we try to keep the bullshit to a minimum, I am a sensitive guy and this is a serious thread no joke intended.

You're in the early 20's doldrums. Your career and life aren't what you think they should be. I think most people go through this unless they are in a career that they always dreamed of. Find a new job out of town. You will be forced to do things on your own with out the usual people who drag you down and helped get you into this rut. It won't be an easy transition but you will be forced to make new friends and survive on your own. Once you are forced to mature (this is not a shot) you will able to trust again and everything will be fine.

Vomit. Are you Seattleallstar, he was a big drama queen as well?...Here's advice. Grow up, STFU, there may be a blind girl out there who will date you and not cheat on you but you won't find her on here.

hopefully NOT one of your friends!

I think you're obsessing about things because you are coming out of a relationship. It takes time to rebound, so relax a little, stop playing horses for a couple of weeks, read a book, and get some sleep. Life will be there when you're ready for it.

2MinsToPost 04-13-2010 08:47 PM

I don't know you at all, just what I have read on here. So, take it or leave it.

OCD, look it up

If you call or email your girlfriend 50 times in a day then you have

too much spare time

Get busy living life and life ain't being lived when you sit behind a keyboard typing the things you did man. Sounds like you are asking for help and I suggest you do what I suggested. Check into OCD you might fit the bill in one way or the other.

Take care of yourself and go live life:tro:

Sightseek 04-13-2010 09:01 PM

Focus on positive things, like being the best father you can be and when you can't be with your sons, do something positive for yourself, like eating well and going to the gym!

Going to the gym really is a really great way to put aside everything that sucks in your life. Besides, you should aim to be healthy to be around for your children as long as possible.

AeWingnut 04-13-2010 09:17 PM

I think restraining order

or you could sit in the dark putting cigarettes out on yourself while listening to the blues.

if you really want to get back at her

be happy

they hate that

Seriously - put all the bullshit behind you - find something you are passionate about and pursue it with vigor...Work is always going to suck - deal with it - that's why you get paid to show up. People that "love" what they do for a living are infinitely blessed, or full of it and have their own issues...

If you are unhappy in your relationship GTFO!!!! You can always make money, meet new friends, etc....but you will NEVER get your time back. There is nothing worse than wasting your life in a shitty relationship just because its "comfortable". It WILL eventually end, and you'll eventually find happiness then kick yourself in the ass for staying as long as you did.

If you've seriously got a gambling problem, you need help. Period. You're never going to win in the long run. Ever. No one does - if they say they do, they are full of SH!T...If it's more than a casual pastime that you can afford to lose what you put into it, you've got issues that you need to deal with.

Lose some weight, gain some self-confidence and chart a path.

Good luck Joseph

Good advice.

The reason you keep going back to the things that you dislike is because you know what to expect from them. Change is what you might have aproblem with. The unexpected.

She'll never get through vet school/med school in North Carolina if you keep that up.

Indian Charlie 04-15-2010 02:43 AM

Your life is empty and you have nothing of real meaning in your life, beyond your kid(s).

All this stuff that causes interference in your life, you have it there to keep you away from any serious introspection, so you don't have to deal with any ugly truths about yourself, or face the prospect of changing things that are hard to change.

Once you realize that things such as careers, useless material possessions and expectations are bullshit thrown at you to keep you in line with everyone else, things will change in your life.

Of course, one must work in this world, so my belief there is to find something that you enjoy doing (or that you are passionate about, as I think Elvis said) and figure out how to make a buck or two at it.

Don't sweat the stupid stuff.

Figure out what you want in a woman and put yourself in situations to meet her. And remember this when looking at a woman, what she looks like today will not be what she looks like in 30 years.

It's annoying that people put work as their top priority in life.

I really would get annoyed in high school when people who just met me, or worse, my relatives, asked me what I was studying and what I wanted to do.

Then in college, the question shifted to 'What's your major?".

After graduating, people I just met would ask me what I do, as if that was possibly the most interesting thing about me.

I'd often answer with "I answer stupid repetitive questions".
