Weird type action

Contest ends today, I'm +37 points and own the tiebreaker.

Here is who I have left:

AQU Race #10: Capitalism at Risk (+8 for win, +6 for 2nd, +4 for 3rd, -5 for 4th place or worse)

SA Race #3: Good Brother (+8 for win, +6 for 2nd, +4 for 3rd, -5 for 4th or worse)

SA Race #5: Uncle Don (+15 for win, +12 for 2nd, +9 for 3rd, -5 for 4th or worse)

SA Race #7: Wolgan Valley (+15 for win, +12 for 2nd, +9 for 3rd, -5 for 4th or worse)

Here is who my lone remaining rival has left:

SA Race #5: Proud Hillbilly (+15, +12, +9, -5)

SA Race #7: Tribal Justice (+15, +12, +9, -5)

SA Race #8: Money Lover (+12, +10, +8, -5)

Winner gets 1K and box seats to Oaks and Derby - loser just gets box seats to Oaks and Derby.

I should hold on ... but I have a really bad feeling about the final races. Feel free to root against me if you must.

I like drama.

DerbyDreamer. I would have already wrapped up a win in the thing (10K) if Eskanderya would have run in the Fla Derby and won it. Now I'm staggering to clinch winning 1/10th that amount. Thank You Ahmed Zayat.

I think your lock city here.

Antitrust32 03-31-2010 04:31 PM

I already asked and was turned down, very rude infact. I was offered Presque Isle Oaks box seats, I was also told its the "BEST DAY IN RACING"

After Uncle Don's win, the only way I can lose the 1K prize now is in the unlikely event that the other guy sweeps the late double and my one remaining horse misses the board.

I very rarely hedge ... but considering what's quoted above .. I'll play a $30 cold late double using my opponets two horses. Maybe I can get lucky and hit the double .. but still win the 1K prize if my horse in the 7th can clunk in 3rd behind his winner.

How did you figure out what jockeys he had?

By his score - and knowing that he made up 800 on me last week - I figured out his entire lineup.

Jockeys: Smith, Bejarano, and Gomez

Horses:
Crisp
Zenyatta
Ice Box
Misremembered
Battle of Hastings
Awesome Gem
Blind Luck
Looking at Lucky or Sidney's Candy or Odysess (prob LAL)
Cozi Rosie
A Little Warm or General Quarters - Prob ALW
Eskanderya
St. Trinians

Really Joseph, if you weren't good enough for the BC. What makes you think you had a shot for the Oaks/Derby?

You're probably right, but there's so many combinations possible- it would be a lot easier if they just showed all the stables' holdings.

If only I had used Crisp... :o

Yeah, well, if both Eskanderya and The Usual QT don't scratch out of their intended spots, the results would have been totally different.

I'd have beaten the winner by several thousand, but one of your other entries might have won as well.

MISTERGEE 04-01-2010 10:25 AM

I am wondering if I am figuring this out right. If the guy that won had about 19,000 points or so does that mean that each horse has to average about 1500 points for the month to win? I am assuming 1000-1500 points for the jockeys

yeah because I'm not on here to look like a fool making picks 5 minutes after the entries come out.
No one cares who I like and, no one cares who you like.

I hope that tout came from a different guy that gave you the hot tip on Bail out the Banks.
That one ran really well...

Yeah, just like Furthest Land that paid $40 in the Breeders Cup.
He was a nice piece of meat between the Goldikova and Conduit sandwich.
I am sure you had him though.

Go look in the picks thread or ask Hockey, I liked and used him..
Thats not the point, you have touted him hard since then... He has fallen apart.

Yeah that was a hard tout...In the DWC.
When I said he was useable at a price and the connections would be very happy with a placing.
