michelle wie
anybody see what happened
looks like she grounded a club after a shot in a hazard |
Has she posed nude yet or put out a sex tape?
|
Quote:
no but she's been to peter lugers |
Taking her longer to show the kitty than it did to win a tournament.
That's sad. |

no - they came up to her , mid round she claims she lost her balance and thatis why the club touched the hazard , the rules officals didn't see it that way |

I have been known to fall in a sandtrap or two and I always use my clubs to get me in and out. |

I honestly do not think she knows the rules Kev. She had some lame excuse about not having her balance in the hazzard so the penalty didn't apply to her. Maybe Tiger can give her a few pointers...... |
I'm not a big fan of hers, and she did break the rule, so she gets the two shots, but for cryin' out loud why does the media eat her alive all the time? Probably other penalties were assessed/taken and not a blip on those. She needs a break from the media, but probably won't happen.

Was thinking the same but the parents are supposed to pieces of work that have earned every bit of ill will. She's a kid who was never allowed to be one. |
Quote:
Exactly! A lot of ill will from her constant efforts to play above LPGA level too. Nike/Media sold her way up the ladder, now she has to be under the microscope every event. And...........some LPGA rules officials behave like Nazi's......... |

In your case, once you finally get the ball out of the bunker on your 4th attempt, then you can ground your club. |

The bunkers in Florida were ridiculous, it was like hitting off of dust it was so 'fine' and thin. Up here you gotta smoke the ball out of traps for it to go anywhere. |
Quote:
kev wasn't the rule infraction after the shot ?? the club was grounded after she hit the ball and was trying to get out of the water hazard (still a penalty though) |

I second your statement. If you cant abide by the rules dont be an embarassment to sport. Dont play it. Here is a link to the video: http://sports.yahoo.com/golf/blog/de...rn=golf,230778 Wie also states that the rules of golf book isnt great reading material. Some spokeswoman for the golfing world. |
Quote:
no i know her reason was flimsy , she hit the shot and was fine until after the shot and she grounded the club then , i have seen people ground the club before they play the shot , i think this is where some of the confusion is coming from |

i agree with the wie decision , she wasn't losing her balance |

2. Rules are rules. They apply to everyone. I had a woman that was a member at a course I worked at for years not speak to me for a very long time because I DQ'd her and her 2 playing partners from a tournament :D |
Quote:
kev , then why is the exception there in the rule book , most infractions there are no cameras there , if someone was in a bunker and the ball was plugged up near the lip , they took a hard swing , and their 1st reaction was not oh where is the ball , their 1st reaction was a reflexive action of putting the club into the sand because they didn't want to go tumbling down , i have seen this time and time again with older people - when would the exception apply is my question? |

I guess your saying its okay to break the rules of golf? That was Wie's quote about the book not mine. How am I being negative? Just curious. No I dont hate my life. I have a wonderful wife and son that I wake up to everyday. I really could care less what your ignorant @ss thinks about me. Im not here to please you or anyone else. The only people I have to please are my wife and son and to an exent my boss at where I work. If you dont like that and you think im being negative well thats your opinion. |

Nice to see someone here enforce the rules of golf. Im sure Scav's think less of you now since you enforced the rules of golf. |
woody austin - did the same shot a couple of yrs ago
he put on the rain suit and pants , and got the ball out , lost his balance and got soaked , but no 2 shot penalty |

This yokel car racing guy is just full of way too much hatred. To take the time to bitch and moan all the time, well, that is alot of pent up aggression, man. Go hit a punching bag or something, it works wonders on the psyche |

Funny ending to the story. As I said, the lady didn't care for me for a long time. I used to play a lot of golf with her husband. Years after I left that job, I ran into them at an OTB in Chesapeake. Come to find out, they had a huge love of horses too. We all became pretty good friends in the end. |

I'll tell you a good Dq story. I was playing in a couple's championship and after the round the pro asked me if I saw what the people in my foursome did in the trap on #5. I was standing next to the green side bunker and the other team in my foursome evidently touched the sand with the rake in the bunker. The team 190 yards away claimed that they were testing the consistency of the sand and wanted the couple DQ'ed. The women was such an awful golfer that she couldn't have cheated if she wanted to. I told the pro I did not see the infraction and I did not believe it occurred. After the round the couple that complained accused me of covering for them. My wife and I played with the complaining couple in the 2nd round of the tournament and they watched every move I made. I was so irritated I shot my career low round and my wife and I won the tournament. They still don't talk to me. |

Do you find that women are far bigger sticklers when it comes to calling rule violations on each other? My wife says it always goes on while I have never had an issue. I think part of it is the men know the rules a little better, to make a generalization. Do you agree? |
