Ok so how is this Bush's Fault
Take a look at what Nancy Pelosi said in 2006
http://www.californiachronicle.com/articles/view/8560 I guess Bush and the republican congress are still controlling gas prices look at what you are paying for a gallon of gas today i guess obama didn't win the election , and i guess the republicans still contol the house , that's why we are paying these high gas prices |
Easy
Bush didn 't raise gas taxes enough to cut consumption. |

Look, Republicans bitch on here all the time about printing money and inflation and blah blah blah. When you look at the rise in Gas prices, you can't blame foreign policy or domestic oil policy(like dems were doing during Bush). You simply have to look at monetary policy. Have you noticed that the dollar strengthening has led to a retreat in oil prices? |

in 2006 nancy pelosi's comments would infer to someone that we had to pay high gas prices becuase bush was president and the republicans ran congress, now prices have gone up since obama took office with a democratic congress , isn't a fair question to her why are prices going up now since you claimed they were ony going up because of who was in charge? |

The 34/35 dollar barrel level was achieved in the midst of a global economic meltdown and definitely would not have gotten so low so fast in normal times. This wasnt merely the bursting of a commodities bubble. It was more the result of the most severe recession in the last 70 years. The fed's monetary policy is what is unprecedented. The surprise is that the monetary policy coupled with the declining production of non-opec countries and the rising demand worldwide has not caused oil to shoot up even HIGHER. Interesting that over the last 30 years, the two highest spikes in oil prices came during the administrations of BUSH I and BUSH II. Yeah, I bet its just a coincidence. |
It took the Nasdaq 7 1/2 years to double. Oil did it in less than a year.
Obama's administration still has almost 3 years. $100 oil will be a reality in that time. |

whether the factors are causing this or not , nancy pelosi in 2006 told the american people that the president and the congress could control the price of oil and they were helping it to go higher to help big oil , why is the most powerful man in the world and the most powerful congressional body suddenly powerless in this situation? you can't have it both ways no matter how much dc double speak about "factors" you give us dala |

you may think that but the majority leader of the congress does not the main impresssion from the article that she gave was the higher gas pices were the result of the republicans being in power now either she was playing politics (something she never does) or at the time she believed she was telling the truth if we give her the benefit of the doubt that she was telling the truth in 2006 then the dems s/b working for the american people now against big oil to get lower gas prices for the american people if she was playing politics then , what dala says in this post about monetary policy other factors etc, etc...... , then she should come out and apoligzie to the american people for mis-informing the public see bob you can't have it both ways |

Wow what the Democrats misinforming the American public again. Hmmm!!!! What do you know Pelosi playing politics. Thats a new one on me. Hopefully her and Reid's day will come soon. The trash in DC needs to be cleaned up. It doesn't look like to me that the Dems are trying anything with big oil to lower gas prices. |

it's no a question of regulation , it's a question of misleading the american people into believing that somehow bush and the republican congress were in bed with the big oil co's to soak the american people on gas px's. it's pretty simply , it's not as complicated as our friend dala from inside the beltway wants everyone to believe |

Did I ever say that healthcare shouldn't be regulated? Maybe you need to borrow my glasses and make sure your reading correctly. Im sure you voted for O'Dumbass, enjoy the next 2 1/2 years with him and watch this countries economy getting worse. |
