On the first Saturday in November, I will take Lava Man over any horse you want. You pick the horse(s) and we are on.

$100 bill

Right here right now, since you was so profound last night and this morning about your feelings about this horse shipping back east. If Lava encounters some type of health issue, is a scratch the bet is off. But by god if Lava loads into the gate at Churchill, the bet is on.

I'll be in attendance so I will either hand you $100 or take off ya.

I was gonna send you a pm and lay this bet out but I would rather it be in a public fashion since you was the one earlier today to bring it up in the first place.

I got too thinkin bout this after lunch today and am on the wagon, the Lava Man wagon. I think this horse is the nuts and can't be denied.

If LM runs in the Classic, which I think he will, I like your bet. I think that Bernardini is the only one that might be able to beat him. Don't let Oracle take Bernardini.

Another 3 year old that is a freak is Discreet Cat. There's no telling how good he is, but he hasn't run for a while and I don't know if he will be ready in time for the Classic. He might be able to beat LM.

LM would crush both Invasor and Sun King.

I want the bet I stated above or no bet at all. Mike, you pick the horse(s) that will beat Lava Man and that is the bet. You spend all this time talkin trash and you are tellin me and everyone else that when the entries are out you can't come up with a horse or two that will beat Lava? If Lava beats them all, I win $100. Should be an easy bet for someone who feels so strongly about Lava's chances. I will make sure to have a $100 bill in an envelope that weekend. As you have said before Mike, now is the time to "Put up or Shut up". You know as well Mike from our other conversations off this board I am good for it.

You're right it is just a pissin match that is going to turn into a good old East Vs West. I hope Lava Man can make the breeders Cup and still have some of his form left. Its been a long racing season for Lava Man and to expect him to in top form at the end is all most impossible, but you got to love him going 1 1/4 at equal weights. Perfect Drifts trainer was whining about the track being dug up the night before the Pacific Classic. He said they changed the track to be more like Hollywood park, just the way Lava Man likes it!

I can assure you they won't be digging up CD to resemble Hollywood for the BC!!!!!

Night Curt, I gotta go take some more allergy pills and be miserable. This really sucks.

Thanks Rupert, this has really ruined my summer and I'm really down. I just woke up at 7:45 Am after going to bed at 11:00 PM last night. Its the allergies doing the sleeping, not me. I'm usually up and and out of bed real early and ready to go. Upon waking my head hurts bad, my mouth tastes yuchy, etc. Its like waking and spending the day with a hangover when you haven't even drank. The Claritin I'm taking isnt touching the allergies to ragweed, simply has no effect. I'm gonna go back to a Dr tomorrow, this is no way to live.

I got slammed by allergies here this summer and found that Zyrtec (I think?) worked WAY better than Claritin for me. Throat still felt a little funny, but I could go outside without feeling like I wanted to die about five feet out the door. I'll look it up to check, just in case the doctor can't recommend much.

In particular, note the section on prescription nasal sprays (NOT the OTC ones, which may not be for allergies). It sounds like your migraines begin as sinus headaches from allergies and I can empathize-- I get the same thing a few times a year, though not from allergies. Migraines suck.

Such symptoms can lead to fatigue, trouble concentrating and missed days of work or school.


Thanks Genuine. I just copied and pasted the key words from that article as they apply to my life. I'm always tired, and the reason I haven't been posting any selections or analysis is that I sit down to go over the PP's and its a real grind to try and concentrate that long. I'm usually sharp as a blade but I feel I'm thinking in slow motion sometimes. I'm gonna go over to the doctor and ask for that prescription nasal spray. If it works I owe you big time.

I hope it works for you! My other thoughts are a neti pot, which is a bit freaky to use but I'm told is GREAT for clearing out the sinuses and... I have a friend who swears that acupuncture, of all things, really did the trick on his hay fever allergies. I guess since allergies are about your body reacting to things that aren't really threats as though they were threats and acupuncture is about getting your body back in proper functioning order it makes some sense. I don't know; I've had my back pain treated with acupuncture but I've never tried it for allergies.

Im not real big on laying somewhere and having needles inserted in me.

It's not all that bad. You really don't even feel them.

I can testify to that, too. They are so thin and so sharp not only do you not feel them, but they also don't leave any marks when they're taken out. I usually fell asleep during treatment.

A friend of mine brought in an acupuncturist for her horse, who was a real head case. The acupuncturist inserted a needle into the horse's neck, and my friend said the horse immediately dropped his head down and started chewing softly. When they took the needle out, it was bent. And I thought I was stressed out...
