Why would post position stop someone from betting him solely because he's Barbaro's sibling?

I assume he will scratch with an outside post. I should have been more clear.

blackthroatedwind 03-17-2010 04:23 PM

Thank God the draw is at 6pm so the pps don't come out until 7 or so. Much better than getting them in mid-afternoon. Hopefully more tracks will follow suit. Those early draws are so overrated.

i was thinking that too...but, in this field he probably has a shot.

The Indomitable DrugS 03-17-2010 04:35 PM

Why is it at 6?

Is there like some kind of fancy St Patty day dinner/post draw?

Got to build up the hype of where Pulsion will be starting from.

Indian Charlie 03-17-2010 05:39 PM

Who cares about the Fla derby!

I'm just pumped up that SA held the San Luis Rey draw at the normal time so that I could learn that Obrigado is going to run!

RockHardTen1985 03-17-2010 05:54 PM

Still no PP's.

Bonnie Miss-
3-6, 6-3

Rampart-
8

Appleton-
6,8,9

Fl Derby-
1,2,5

Just for you Steve.

Indian Charlie 03-17-2010 06:33 PM

All I can say is, without having looked over the pps yet, the Bonnie Miss looks like it's going to be a real head scratcher.

You have Switch going to dirt from SA.

You have that Devil May Care filly, who won a g1 race in NY at 2 but I think bombed in her 3yo comeback.

Amen Hallelujah, coming off nice wins at both SA and GP.

And then you have the hot hyped horse, Christine Daae. That race is going to be hard to figure out.

For me, its the easiest race. DMC is really good, toss her last 2. She did not handle the synthetics and she had a trip and got all worked up before her comeback. She runs back to her 2 yr old form she will prove to be tough, and then theres CD I want her a lot more then I want Amen coming off that huge top.

Switch is a huge unknown though. She could beat these.

Saddler bringing her did jump out, I will wait for the pps to comment on her.
Knowing the pp's of the 2 I like and even Amen she will really have to run, this is a nice group.

That's my point dude!

Well, not so much that this is a great field, but more that there appears to be a number of entries with ability and many of those have serious question marks.

Desormeau says he loves Miner's Reserves's post and he's the fastest horse in the race. Does that mean he thinks MR is the fastest overall or that he's the speed of the speed?

It means hes confused, IMO.

RockHardTen1985 03-17-2010 08:14 PM

Am I getting pp's tonight for this card?

Alan07 03-17-2010 09:54 PM

Wait until tommorow when everything is finalized

What it means is that you should never listen to what any jockey thinks, especially that one.

Meaning he's wrong about the post and about Miner's Reserve being the fastest horse? Well, he's obviously high on him as he convinced Zito and LaPenta to deviate from their set plan re: pointing for the Preakness.

It means he's full of sh!t...as always.

This is the same guy that guaranteed Imperialism would win the Preakness and Belmont.

If Miner's Reserve wins it will "be the best horse he's ever ridden."

meaning pinheads are not reliable sources.

slotdirt 03-18-2010 08:15 AM

Hmmm. So would it be crazy to think Lentenor might actually have a shot here?

Alan07 03-18-2010 09:06 AM

Laffit Pincay III, Gary Stevens, Jeff Siegel, Caton Bredar, Alyssa Ali, and Scott Hazelton, will provide information, insights and analysis throughout the card.

HRTV will remain in Florida the following day, hosting the show’s twice-weekly “Pursuit of the Crown” that will air March 21 at 8 p.m. ET.

The Fl Derby looks like it will be a great betting race.
I'm going to take a long look at First Dude.
He's improving as he stretches out, and the horse that nipped him last time out (Fly Down) is running next weekend in the LA Derby, I believe. He likes the GP track, has the right running style, and another step forward puts him in the mix here.

Then I think we all agree he should not be in the race.......right?

Has that been confirmed - re: Fly Down? NOLA.com didn't list him....

Oh, ok, thanks. I usually tune out jockeys whenever they proclaim their current big mount as the best they've ever ridden.

I'm going to go with Biancobra and Pusion. Hoping he got his snake delivery.
