This might be her best ever effot. He never ever put the whip on her, she pulled herself into the race at the top of the lane, Mike got in trouble because he had so much horse he did not even know what to do with himself.

This sums it up....trouble only hurts you if anyone else is running...when she got in trouble, only a 50-1 hopeless pig was left to beat...when she got out of trouble, same score.

Very impressive to see her overcome it, but if there was absolutely ANYTHING in that race besides her, they'd have been long gone by the time she got free. Lucky for her that Zardana was in that other race today.

Give Zenyatta credit - most horses would have bailed in that spot. Then again, most jockeys wouldn't have put their mounts in that spot either, but I digress. She's got moxy.

Well it's two-fold. Zardana sucks on the synthetics....but she doesn't suck THAT bad. Today's results make it clear to me that she's better on dirt, so we can't compare them like apples an oranges.

On the flipside, if there was anything but plugs in that Santa Margarita, she would've been in for a hell of a race. Luckily for her, nobody was doing any running at all while she was getting into her trouble.

The 50-1 plug that she had to catch before the trouble was still the only horse she had to catch once she got out of it. She's fortunate that there was nothing in that race, but she ran huge and overcame everything asked of her.

I think she was awfully impressive today on one hand, and awfully lucky on the other that she was the only Grade I mare in an otherwise lackluster Grade III field that allowed her to get away with that.

Brian you are right and thats the kind of race RA should of had today.

on figures RA run lengths better, many lengths.

This is so old... Her Apple Blossom win WAS AWESOME AND really easy. No reasson to think she would not improve right now, AGAIN on dirt.

Its getting so old... I hate synthetics, but they are not going anywhere... People just need to stop, racing is racing and Z is the goods on either surface.

I just watched the replay of it, she totally EXPLODES IN THAT RACE.

yeah I know, I don't understand why people are so convinced she needs synthetic to win and would be a hapless also ran on dirt.
