Apparently they have no first and second round picks this season. So their only chance to improve is through free agency. I'm guessing that they are under enormous pressure after last years flop and are going to try to land the big fish in this years free agent class.

As for how I feel, the real problem of our comedy offensive line hasn't been solved. Frank OMG still doesn't block people. |

The main problem with trading Olson is that he is the only guy on a Martz offense that can actually catch the ball. |

New offensive coordinator Mike Martz gets his man, and it spells bad news for incumbent blocker Desmond Clark. Manumaleuna, 6'2/295, is one of the best blocking tight ends in the league, which is an integral characteristic for a tight end in Mike Martz's offense. While the Chicago Tribune speculates that Greg Olsen will maintain a large role, it's not going to happen in the receiving game. Look for Manumaleuna to be the Bears' new starter. Salaries Clark - 1.5 million for 2010 - 2011 Free Agent Olsen - 690,000 for 2010 - 726,000 2011 - 2012 Free Agent |

Did Dan Snyder buy the Bears too?
To quote Tom Jackson (i can't believe i just typed that): "its like fixing your basement when you have a leaky roof" There better be some big moves for the line coming up. |
They could have 5 Krakens blocking for tard-o and he'd still throw 4 picks.

Bears 9-7 no way!
The bears 9-7 no way! Am I missing something don't the bears need a line and receivers for cutler. Instead they overpay peppers on a defense already looking old and getting bad. Then get a blocking tight end and add taylor. I thought forte was suppose to be a superstar in the making. I love all these bear fan talking playoffs! Cutler sucks he has that deer in the headlights look, and with that line he may break his record for interception from last year! My prediction deangelo gets fired along with lovie and martz takes over. Face it bear fans its gonna be awhile before your back in playoffs. Cutler will symbolize mediocre if that!:)

They still need a number one receiver, among other things.
I guess I'm kind of happy for right now with the signings, but I think they ignored an awful lot of real problems. I have modest to decent hopes for Aromashodu this year if he stays healthy. He's probably the closest thing we have to a true receiver right now, if his play at the end of the year when he was healthy was any indication, but having a guy that would be lucky to be a #2 on 3/4 of the NFL clubs as your go-to guy is not real promising. I'm hoping if they utilize him the right way, it may open up the game a bit for big plays from guys like Knox and butterhands Hester...but that's probably a bit optimistic. Still a big fan of the other Devin's though -- think he'll have a solid, productive year. |
like them getting chester taylor..hey ill give them this much.they have finally opened virginas mccaskys purse..if this is a sign of things to come ill make them a contender in 2 yrs. lovie must crack the whipp in spring training and bring back the '5 guys on the ball' at all times.maybee they should bring back
gary fencick/doug plank to give a seminar on head hunting.. |
