Where would you put your money?

I think the top few are too low...I looked at it for minute and waffled all over the field. The NFL is too unpredictable season to season.

jets, saints and vikings...too hard to predict so play the odds.

Bigsmc 02-09-2010 08:01 AM

Trying to find value....

Jets, Falcons, Texans and maybe a bit on the Dolphins or Bears.

The Indomitable DrugS 02-09-2010 08:24 AM

Pats will go 19-0

Then bet your life savings and get the lottery winner down the street to chip in too.

You can really hit that 10-1 hard. Easy money.

Have you lost your mind? The Bears are comedy. They hired a guy that couldn't win a game to try and get a unit that couldn't stop anyone, to stop them.

We won't be above .500 for a least another three years.

I'm just trying to find some value. How could you bet any of those top 6 or 8 teams at those prices in February? I was looking at it like a Derby Future. If you are going to bet that early, you'd better get a price.

Teams in the NFL have miraculous turnarounds from season to season. I haven't given up on Cutler yet.

South Beach Luv 02-09-2010 09:35 AM

With Reid and Mcnabb both back I would need 50-1

MaTH716 02-09-2010 09:42 AM

40/1 on the Panthers is a little interesting. Obviously I like it a lot better if they resign Peppers and lose Delhomme. But that seems like a big price for a team that was the #2 seed two years ago and played well at the end last season.

GBBob 02-09-2010 09:45 AM

50-1 on a team that started the season 6-0 is interesting too..Not that I really believe Denver can do that, there is something there.

Hey man ... I snapped my Super Bowl ATS losing streak

Coach Pants 02-09-2010 11:19 AM

I would need 40-1 or more to put $10 on the Titans.

timmgirvan 02-09-2010 11:32 AM

Falcons could be the sleeper

No thanks.

It would be interesting to know what last years line was on the Saints.

25-1, closed before season around 20-1.

Hickory Hill Hoff 02-09-2010 11:54 AM

Texans @ 35-1

Wouldn't take that.

This is a win wager for Vegas.

I agree. When I used to bet future in any sport it had to be 50-1 or higher.

ateamstupid 02-09-2010 09:18 PM

Those odds look like crap to me. The Giants have a better Super Bowl chance than the Jets? Really? And the Pats have an equal shot as the Saints? Did the 2009 season not happen?

The ones I saw at Football Locks make more sense across the board IMO.

Arizona Cardinals +$3,000 (30 to 1)
Atlanta Falcons +$3,000 (30 to 1)
Baltimore Ravens +$1,500 (15 to 1)
Buffalo Bills +$10,000 (100 to 1)
Carolina Panthers +$4,000 (40 to 1)
Chicago Bears +$4,000 (40 to 1)
Cincinnati Bengals +$3,000 (30 to 1)
Cleveland Browns +$10,000 (100 to 1)
Dallas Cowboys +$1,200 (12 to 1)
Denver Broncos +$5,000 (50 to 1)
Detroit Lions +$10,000 (100 to 1)
Green Bay Packers +$1,200 (12 to 1)
Houston Texans +$4,000 (40 to 1)
Indianapolis Colts +$600 (6 to 1)
Jacksonville Jaguars +$5,000 (50 to 1)
Kansas City Chiefs +$10,000 (100 to 1)
Miami Dolphins +$4,000 (40 to 1)
Minnesota Vikings +$1,200 (12 to 1)
New England Patriots +$1,000 (10 to 1)
New Orleans Saints +$800 (8 to 1) Repeat?
New York Giants +$3,000 (30 to 1)
New York Jets +$1,500 (15 to 1)
Oakland Raiders +$10,000 (100 to 1)
Philadelphia Eagles +$1,200 (12 to 1)
Pittsburgh Steelers +$1,000 (10 to 1)
San Diego Chargers +$800 (8 to 1)
San Francisco 49ers +$4,000 (40 to 1)
Seattle Seahawks +$5,000 (50 to 1)
St. Louis Rams +$10,000 (100 to 1)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +$10,000 (100 to 1)
Tennessee Titans +$3,000 (30 to 1)
Washington Redskins +$5,000 (50 to 1)

Odd that they have both Philly and Dallas at 12-1 after D just creamed them back-to-back.

Frankly, I think the Birds should be no better than 30-1...

declansharbor 02-09-2010 11:40 PM

Let me guess, the a$$hole troll above me posted something about the Eagles...his life must slurp on nut hairs like spaghetti strands, being a USC fan too...

The Saints have a strong chance of repeating. Their only weak point is stopping the run, and Payton and Loomis will take care of that in the offseason. I fully expect that Reggie Bush won't be a Saint next year. Maybe the new guy in Seattle will take him.

The NFC is going to be very strong next year. The Falcons, Cowboys, Packers, Redskins, and 49ers are poised to have good seasons. Vikings might be a contender next year depending on what happens at QB, and the same goes for Philly. In the AFC I really like the Texans.

Smooth Operator 02-09-2010 11:52 PM

Oh boy … the Reid licker is back…

3kings 02-10-2010 06:19 AM

The Falcons @ 30-1 would be my play.......Had a ton of injuries last year on Defence plus Turner and Ryan. Two years ago they were very good........ the league catches up to them after their 1st good year in a while...... than they make a big leap forward. This is similar to the Saints pattern the last 3 years and very common in the last decade or 2.

no offense but the only thing he's right about is the Eagles. There is no reason for them to have the same odds as a team that absolutely destroyed them two weeks in a row.

and Romo > McNabb. If McNabb plays next year it will be a typical year for the Eagles. McNabb will have 6 awesome games and 6 average games and 4 poor games (against teams like Oakland) and we'll go 10-6 or 11-5 and then we'll look awesome the first playoff game or so and McChoke will do his thing when it matters (choke).

thought they had a lot of expiring contracts after this season? hope you're right about the skins. they've been supposedly poised to do well for years. snyder has been the kiss of death.

I think Martz is going to be a good fit, and I bet they score a lot of points.

But yeah, they'll probably give up a lot of points too.

They have 29 free agents, but the only unrestricted free agents of note are Darren Sharper, Scott Fujita, Billy Miller, and Kendrick Clancy.

The 2009 Redskins were like the 2008 Saints in that they let too many wins slip through their fingers.

You could've said the same thing after the Eagles buttfu cked the Cowgirls in week 17 of the prior year, but look how than turned out...Things can go either way, especially in this division. We will bounce back once we turn the defense upside down. With a few team's high draft picks this year, we'd be fools to look in any direction other than shoring up the defense. Andy knows this, he better, and will adjust in the off-season accordingly.

and let's blame it ALL on McNabb. Granted, they had a cupcake schedule, but they did set many offensive records for the franchise. They looked like dog $hit the last few weeks of the year, but that can be attributed to much, much more than just 'McChoke'... and Romo is NOT> McNabb, lets be real Uncly...I'll need Romo to win more than one playoff game for your assessment to hold ANY weight.

and for the blind as a bat USC knob gobbler, good ole Pete Carrol will be back in college ball in two years. I'd much rather be a Reid fan that swinging from the cock of a guy who failed MISERABLY in his stint as a pro coach and primed to fail again. Is Reid the best gameday coach? Not by any stretch, but he sure as $hit will, on his worst day, run a much better operation (organization, not family) than Carrol will on his best day.

its obviously not ALL McChoke's fault.. Reids game day play calling doesnt help... neither did not having a solid or consistant linebacker crew, a good safety.. or a consistant O line OR another pass rusher along side Cole.

But McChoke gets most of the blame for the two Cowboys game.. he was TERRIBLE and inaccurate like he is in most "big" games.

I'm REALLY ready for the Kevin Kolb era, and McNabb could be more help for this team if we somehow get a 1st round pick for him or trade for a solid DE(which we wont.. we'll get a 2nd or a 3rd rounder).

At some point they have to address the offensive...and I mean that literally..line or Cutler will get killed, pout and throw 25 picks again.

Agreed. And it will also be interesting to see how that pass happy offense does in the windy city...with no receivers.

This looks like one of those desperation, lets try anything moves that never seem to work.
