OK..here goes..

For one.I HATE Buffet's music...it's cheezy, sickening, vomit worthy trife that does not deserve a presence in the same breath as The Who, Stones, U2, Bruce, etc. These are bands that have created Rock n Roll. Buffet is a briliiant marketer who has taken about three songs and sh*tty restaurants and made millions. Good for him. But please do not put him on a Super Bowl ever!

Next year ideas...AC/DC, Metallica, Van Halen...???

I think all three of those bands rock too hard for the Super Bowl pansies. I like The Who also, but it's torture watching these ancient bands nearly have heart attacks every year because CBS/FOX are scared of a titty popping out.

AeWingnut 02-08-2010 06:06 AM

it was a booby that showed up at least 20 years too late. I think Danzig said she saw old man belly and was offended.

I thought the Who were about to die. They are past it. Pete Townsend did pretty good for a deaf guy but it was terrible.

Wow, Van Halen ..with or without David Lee Roth?

I've never been to cheeseburger in paradise but I've heard it is nothing special and it cost like $50 to eat there.

TheSpyder 02-08-2010 06:11 AM

Zenyatta and Racheal race around the field at half time.

Bob, don't hold back. How do you really feel about Buffet? lol! Nice change of opinion with the Saints. Unfortunately, the NFL is due to go mainstream country.

magic_idol 02-08-2010 06:56 AM

If Metallica play next year,I'm DEFINATELY getting STONED @ half time:rolleyes: ,
Hey how bout Pink Floyd:confused:

joeydb 02-08-2010 07:33 AM

The Who rocked the house! Best halftime show I've seen in years.

Rock and Roll should always accompany football. It's a natural fit.

no, i said old man boobs would be offending. sighty saw belly! lol
i didn't watch it, only heard it. didn't sound too good to me.

i think they need to move away from bands that are old enough to draw social security. how about nickelback next year?
honestly, i don't care for the shows since it's always a cut up montage of a lot of songs. just not my thing.

Rock music will beat out hip hop/ janet jackson / pop music any day of the week. I thought the Who was great.. except they looked ancient and sounded ancient.. (maybe the old bands should think about lip sinking).. Still their songs are great ones and the light show was the best of any halftime show i've ever seen.. I cant stand when these bands just fill the field with people or kids or whatever.. light show was great!! I'm sure Uncle Tom loved it!! :D

brockguy 02-08-2010 08:58 AM

yeah I didnt think the Who were that great compared to previous years shows. They just looked really really old - If it wasnt for their great songs, it would have been a disaster..

On an unrelated note, this was my favourite moment from last night

While watching at one point Daltry's lips seemed to be a little out of sync with the audio. Was there a audio delay or were they lip-syncing?

Little Who trivia here..The song..Baba O'Riley, was named by Pete for two different people. One was the leader of a religion he was involved with at the time named Baba something or other. The O'Riley was for Terry O'Riley, who composed the synthesizer portion of the song.

i liked the Who, they did a good job. i just not a fan of the extended halftime crap. as far that goes, i'm not a fan of the 4 hr. pre-game crap. just show me the freaking game! and do a good job. all the freaking commercials. the game has no rhythm to it.

It is certainly a long day, but that is what horse racing is for. Santa Anita ended right before kickoff and we were putting 2$ in each and everyone was getting a horse. It was quite fun.....

hoovesupsideyourhead 02-08-2010 12:04 PM

MaTH716 02-08-2010 12:57 PM

I'm certainly not a Who fan, but I thought they were alright last night. But as far as I'm concerned halftime takes to damn long. It felt like halftime to forever last night. They give you like 8 hours of pre game crap, why not give people a concert for one of those hours. I would watch that as opposed to watching the Who try to cram all their hits into a 15-20 minute session. As far as halftime goes, bring out the dogs catching frisbees or something. But just get the damn 2nd half started as quickly as possible.

Agree- I thought the Who did a good job.

I'm making Journey the early favorite for next year's Super Bowl halftime show. 5/1 contracts open for trading.

Purely because they are from Texas, ZZ Top.

I thought Tom Petty was the best halftime show in the last decade or so. Both Petty (and the Heartbreakers) have been around forever, but compared to the Who and the Stones, they're in their prime, and they sounded great when they did it.
