Looks like a lot of off the turf races tomorrow too,with all that rain in the south.

I'll be surprised if Aqueduct isn't added tomorrow.

NYC looks to be right on the top edge of the storm. Philly and DC are getting whacked but NYC has a chance to get just a few inches.

They will meet at 6am for a decision. Watch the website for the call and may be a good chance to sign up for the new text message service from NYRA.

I have a feeling Tampa and Gulfstream will be sloppy and off the turf tomorrow....looks to be raining like crazy in both places

Rain is done here in Tampa. They will be off the turf tomorrow, the dirt track will start out as "good" and will be "fast" by the time Musket Man goes down to defeat at odds on.

Rain is pretty much done here too...

It's the "dead of winter" in NY and a stormstorm, yet Aqueduct is running......and then there's Sunny California & Santa Anita is closed......AMAZING! :zz:

Beautiful Turf Paradise will be fast and firm today with full fields and 50 cent P4s.

This is the Rainy Season in California, you know. (The others are the Dry Season and the Fire Season. There are also a couple of other short incursions, like the June Gloom.) It is tropical moisture, coming off the ocean from the southwest and the high mountains around the basin keep it from getting over to Arizona, most of the time. I remember going to SA in the winter and seeing a muddy track, off the turf. The Rainy Season generally lasts from some time in November to sometime in February or March.

Of course, the drainage system they put in with the Cushion track a couple of years back is apparently so bad that any decent rain puts the surface under water. They are going to have to tear it up and start from scratch. Stronach should have stuck to breeding, at which he is good; his management of two of the best tracks in the country has fallen short in so many areas.

Granted, but if it wasn't for the brilliant minds of the CHRB mandating synthetic surfaces, they would most likely be racing today in California.

I live in San Dimas which is 10 miles from Santa Anita and I to am in the foothills and I can tell you that the old dirt track ( even with Steve Woods working on it) listed as good to muudy today.

It hasn't rained that much! Christ we are still drive at 80 mph on the freeways.

By the way the rainy season in Southern California (without salting the clouds) is from Febuary 4th to febuary 5th most years.

Yea, but that old track would be having Foster-Child types coming in today, n' turning it into Lotto.

Sometimes Lotto is better than nothing.

Next Thursday n' Friday would be a good time for people to use that "all" button in the legs of late pick 4, because you know they are gunna do everything possible to c/o into Saturday's big stakes card. Maybe even the 3rd or 4th legs of the early p4.

Chance of rain on Friday= No racing and that is almost a lock with NHRA at Pomona.

The snow storm did not reach the NYC area. It's amazing how Santa Anita can't handle rain after two surface switches. Hopefully they put in a solid base and go back to dirt.
