Zenyatta running in 2010
Zenyatta to race in 2010
By Brad Free http://drf.com/news/article/110161.html ARCADIA, Calif. - Zenyatta will run in 2010. Owners Jerry and Ann Moss told Daily Racing Form on Saturday that the undefeated 6-year-old mare will campaign this season. "We're going to run her," Jerry Moss said Saturday at Santa Anita. It was widely believed that the Breeders' Cup Classic was going to be her final start, and Moss thought so, too. "I got very emotional after she won the Breeders' Cup and thought what better way to retire," Moss said. Zenyatta, however, bounced out of the Breeders' Cup in top shape and has posted three half-mile workouts at her Hollywood Park base recently. Jerry and Ann Moss visited Zenyatta on Saturday morning. "Seeing her today, she's so radiant," Ann Moss said. The Mosses asked trainer John Sherriffs for his input, and he was fully supportive of running the mare in 2010. A comeback race for Zenyatta has yet to be determined as the Mosses statement on Saturday was the first official indication that she would continue racing. It will be up to the trainer to decide when and where she returns, Jerry Moss said. |
But of course. Maybe she can win Horse of The Year.
|
While I applaud the decision, why all the lies and deceit all this time with her?
I think it was pretty obvious the whole time they were full of crap about why she was working out. |
Well I do think they have figured out she won't win horse of the year. The upswell after the cup looked like she might have a chance. They still want the big prize horse of the year I guess? Or a crowd of 80,000 at some track.

Please Mosses....do the right thing and follow Rachel Alexandra to whichever race she goes in!!!!
So that there can be no debate anymore who is better! I like RA, but I just want the debate to end, even if Zenyatta beats her fair and square. |

The Mosses did say she may run in 2010--if you cared to remember ...
There were no lies and deceits--just no direct answers til now, frustrating to be sure--it was just you guys that filled in the blanks and made the assumptions--like the parades were farewell parties ??? They did say that they were working her to " keep her happy ", but they never said that down the road they would race her for similar reasons ... Be happy she will run, and remember, your assumptions have been off the board so far ... |

Who do we see first this year, Zenyatta or RA?

The ? is..... will he be keep her in So Cal... or go race her on dirt?!
Z's alot better than avg horse, but want to see her win on dirt (or grass)... something other than synthetic, before she goes into the superhorse category (which most have already put her into). |

They said one thing, than they said this, a week later. They were keeping her in training, so they were obviously giving it at least very serious consideration, for bringing her back. How is that not deceitful? And how the hell have my 'assumptions' been off the board so far? What the fugg does that even mean? Are you really that naive to believe the things you are saying? You are probably the most ridiculous poster on all of DT. |
Apple Blossom is the most logical choice for an RA-Zenyatta meeting.
Both raced at Oaklawn and won there before. |

You have the worst reading comprehension issues I have ever seen ... It was assumed she was retired, and they constantly fielded the question--that's what the frig your assumptions got you---the inability to perceive the less-than -obvious ... You also do not consider the possibilty that the Mosses were undecided about whether to retire her or not, and kept the horse in training until they did ??? And annoyingly fluffed direct answers .. Your peurile comment about who is a ridiculous poster deserves you a hand mirror ... I am at least willing to read or listen to caca and respond to it somewhat civilly without pitching monkey poo ... Clearly you are not ... It is hardly ridiculous to examine all possibilities when the probabilities are not made clear by the only people that count here---the connections ... BTW---It was the headline in the racing publication that Zenyatta was still retired, made by the reporter . Read it |

If I have reading comprehension issues than you certainly have hearing comprehension issues. They repeatedly said she was retired. As in the Mosses said she was retired. How is it that you keep failing to grasp that they have said she is retired? How does that translate to me not being able to understand what I read? Your constant denying of reality and making up a fantasy to deflect your hostility at me is really hard for me to understand. I'll give you that. And yeah, I get it. They were undecided about keeping her in training. Hence my question in the first place. If they were, at the very least, undecided, why the constant denying that she might race again? Why stick to your guns that she is retired. This isn't some writer making this up, these were point blank questions that they answered and until just a few days ago, they were insistent she is retired. Slewbopper. I'm just sick of people, especially in the media, not being able to say what they mean and mean what they say. The Mosses and Sherriffs have been playing games with the truth all last year in how they discussed Zenyatta with the press. For nearly a year now, they've not been able to give a straight answer. How is that ok? And yet again, if you read my first post, I did preface my complaint by saying I'm happy that they have decided to continue to race her. Why all the subterfuge though? |

I would take anything Doug says with a pound of salt, as he will say pretty much anything he needs to say to help himself. |

I don't care if they were lying, undecided or simply changed their minds. I'm just glad she's running this year. Assuming Summer Bird comes back, when was the last time the winners of all three Triple Crown races and the BCC winner all returned the next year? Good racing luck to all of them in 2010!

If you say so, et al---I don't ... Glad you are so happy---perhaps then, you will not qualify your happiness ad nauseum then ... |

How about punchy?

No surprise
They want a piece of that over-hyped Alexander filly… |

Then I heard Moss being interviewed over the phone on TVG and he said facing RA this year had nothing to do with his decision to race her some more. He did seem to indicate they were open to shipping this year. Who knows. |

How'd your non existent date1 go? |
A bs injury will prevent these two from meeting.
