Coldest Week Possibly Ever, For Sure Since 1800's

Here were I just moved, Jacksonville, Florida.

So I decide to move from Ohio and the brutal cold and here I am freezing at night lol.

Hey Hooves glad I brought some winter gear you were right.:tro:

It's not that bad, no below zero wind chill crap etc and it's getting into the 40's and 50's at day plus the sun is out:tro:

They are sure to loose some crops:(

dellinger63 01-04-2010 09:06 AM

The extreme cold and snow are proof of Global Warming but Riot et al will have to explain that one again.

timmgirvan 01-04-2010 09:16 AM

ddthetide 01-04-2010 10:48 AM

more 'Riotous' proof of gloal warming, from today's Drudge Report!

Temps Plunge to Record as Cold Snap Freezes North, East States...
CHILL MAP...
Vermont sets 'all-time record for one snowstorm'...
Iowa temps 'a solid 30 degrees below normal'...
Power outage halts flights at Washington Reagan National Airport...
Seoul buried in heaviest snowfall in 70 years...
Peru's mountain people 'face extinction because of cold conditions'...
Beijing -- coldest in 40 years...
World copes with Arctic weather...

and to think by warming the planet we're freezing these poor Peruvians into extinction:zz:

you can wait for riot to explain.

or you can click the link to the article on drudge and read this:

"In a world growing ever hotter, Huancavelica is an anomaly. These communities, living at the edge of what is possible, face extinction because of increasingly cold conditions in their own microclimate, which may have been altered by the rapid melting of the glaciers."

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010...rs-winter-cold

other's here tell me you're really not an idiot but it's hard to tell when you post headlines to prove an imagined point without bothering to read the actual article.

No Way! :D

There's a reason I left the post on esoteric and not the political side because of the humor factor in the headline not the story that was obviously written w/a left angle. Extinct or just forced to move to lower ground? It involves a couple hundred people.

Sorry - plenty of information has been posted on this board where one can learn about climate change starting at a first grade level. You just enjoy not reading it.

Unfortunately, you then keep posting comments, like the above, that make you look very, very silly.

Winter gear? 40's and 50's for you should be like summer:) I'm the one who's freezing here.

Arletta 01-04-2010 04:56 PM

Bloods thinner for those of us in the south...I have 2 shirts and two jackets on today to keep warm.. And it is only 39 :D

green communism or How to take advantage of a cyclical weather pattern

gerbil worming is only caused by countries with a free market.
Communist China etc is exempt.

Do any of those links explain why there WAS a thousand feet of ice where I am now and no one was driving cars causing it to melt back then.

I just walked in from dinner. I'm sitting at this restaurant with a golf shirt and a light pullover just chilling and then take a walk around St Johns Town Center, an outdoor mall here in Jacksonville. This couple walks by and asks my God aren't you freezing? They are bundled like its 10 degrees.

This is like Fall weather for me but after a year or two and my blood and body gets acclimated I'll be freezing too.

My parents moved to SC a little over a year ago and are going thru the same change. At first it did not bother them, now when it drops into the 40's they freeze.

Get used to it. I witnessed 3 certain wussies from this board last year at Tampa that were wearing 3 layers of clothes when it was 60 degrees.

The global warming nut jobs never watched Ice Age. Too sophisticated for them.

I heard there is a chance of snow on Friday.

Heels1989 01-05-2010 01:52 PM

I blame these guys:

2MinsToPost 01-05-2010 04:06 PM

Yeah, may snow here Thursday. Probably get down to the mid teens here Saturday night. I feel real bad for the farmers.

Rudeboyelvis 01-05-2010 06:26 PM

Some forecast models are actually predicting snow in Tampa on Sunday :zz:

I can't believe how cold it is on the east coast right now. It's as warm as ever in Los Angeles right now. It's been over 77 degrees the last 3 days in a row and it's supposed to be in the 70s every day for the next week.

Sightseek 01-05-2010 07:18 PM

I picked a fine time to be going to Florida!

Indian Charlie 01-05-2010 09:28 PM

23 here. Not so bad.

hi_im_god 01-05-2010 09:37 PM

i didn't know a winter storm was all it took to disprove climate change.

this argument is going to be much tougher than i thought.

on the bright side, jets fans now have irrefutable evidence in their "jets are a better team than the colts" pocket. good for them.

Just got back from PA yesterday... and I have lived in AZ/FL since 2001... it was like 17 degrees the past week in PA and I was the most comfortable out of everyone in my family. Either vicoden warms me up or my blood did not thin at all.

randallscott35 01-07-2010 03:37 PM

I love the pic. So true.

I wish we could reach a point where people could all agree on the following:

1) If you're a person (probably a liberal) who believes/understands that global warming is real.....stop saying the scientific debate on global warming is "settled." Science is never settled. True, the overwhelming majority of the evidence demonstrates that the earth has been warming significantly over the last 50-100 years. That doesn't mean anybody really knows what will happen in the years ahead, or what climatologists will discover down the road, or what effect changes in human behavior will (or will not) have. Could the earth begin cooling over the next century for reasons nobody currently understands or could possibly predict? Absolutely.

2) If you're a person (probably a conservative) who does not believe/understand that global warming is real.....stop acting like every snow storm or cold front proves your point. You just make yourself look like an idiot.

it's similar to a new thread every time there's an injury on a synthetic track.
