Will he make history on Boxing Day?
Good luck to Kauto Star! :tro:
The only other 4 timer, Dessie, will be watching from above. http://horses.sportinglife.com/Racec...349432,00.html http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/n...al_102750.html 4! |
Go Kauto Star!!!
I wish I was there again this year! |
Maybe one day I will learn how to convert "foreign" currency to dollars. Or maybe all jurisdictions should just switch to gold now.:$:
|
He did that rather easily - unofficial 36Length winner!!
|
He is amazing! What a run!!! He makes it look so easy, a legend!!!
I might have to start making plans to attend the Gold Cup. |

Can he make it 5?
Best of luck to him! (I'm hoping Sizing Europe comes home right behind him). (Ummm anyone have any thoughts on Ollie being here? I know he was just 4th in that race with poor Twist Magic and that he won one this year but ummm... ). :wf Sunday December 26 2010 Kempton Park 15:00 William Hill King George VI Chase (Grade 1) £200000.00 added, 4yo plus, 3m, Class 1 14 runners Horse Age Wt Trainer Jockey OR NagMe Bet 6211-4F Albertas Run (IRE) 36 9 11-10 Jonjo O'Neill 168 SP SP 25/1 11121-2 Burton Port (IRE) 29 6 11-10 N J Henderson 152 SP SP 20/1 22222-2 Forpadydeplasterer (IRE) 42 8 11-10 Thomas Cooper 167 SP SP 10/1 11/11F-1 Kauto Star (FR) 50 10 11-10 P F Nicholls 190 SP SP 10/11 11113-3 Long Run (FR) 43 5 11-10 N J Henderson 158 SP SP 5/1 244F-2F Madison Du Berlais (FR) 29 9 11-10 D Pipe 157 SP SP 40/1 P423-14 Nacarat (FR) 36 9 11-10 T R George 158 SP SP 12/1 113211/ Noland 747 9 11-10 P F Nicholls 157 SP SP 66/1 0P2-144 Ollie Magern 11 12 11-10 N A Twiston-Davies 147 SP SP 100/1 12F01-3 Planet of Sound 36 8 11-10 P J Hobbs 163 SP SP 14/1 3115F-1 Riverside Theatre 55 6 11-10 N J Henderson 160 SP SP 12/1 1113-22 Sizing Europe (IRE) 50 8 11-10 Henry De Bromhead 160 SP SP 12/1 64/113-1 The Nightingale (FR) 50 7 11-10 P F Nicholls 167 SP SP 33/1 61/211-5 What A Friend 36 7 11-10 P F Nicholls 159 SP SP 33/1 |

Ryan.... quit the overdose already. |
Hahahaha wow did you remember he started the Overdose thread or were you just responding to his post even though it's a year and a day old? :p
I'm being horrible. Kidding! Lets hope the weather is nice in a couple of weeks so he can win this thing again. |
Ryan looks stupid in any time zone.
I really did not know there was an overdose thread nor that his amphetamine post was that old. I really did not. Yes, we must win this thing. |
Amazing how many horses in the field are ones whose names I remember from our sabbatical year in Cambridge three years ago (academic year 2007-2008). Of course, Kauto was there, too. Nothing like sitting in front of the telly on a dreary winter day on the edge of the Fens, with a hot cuppa and top 'chasers to watch.

He's a scratch! (I'm happy... no reason to do this to him). (Not because he's 13 or his 58 starts... I mean look at poor Sir Slick in NZ. It's just that he didn't belong here. I didn't think he did anyway...). |
He was 3rd but no less of a great.
Congrats to Long Run and to his connections. http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/n...al_110702.html |
5-1(in the US market) in a 6 horse race.

Such a great old man and Long Run is one tough customer... I was worried!
Still haven't seen the replay but if you catch it and could post it that would be great. If not I'm sure I'll find it later. A nice start to the day... To Kauto! :tro: :) |
Looks like he made a great jumpy- poo!
HUGE fan! |
|
"Ruby came over to school him and Kauto was awesome, just as I'd thought he would be. He jumped six fences - the plain fence and the open ditch three times each - and he was foot perfect and looked magnificent.
"I have just put the phone down to Clive and, barring any mishaps in the next few days, Kauto lines up for the Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Friday. We are looking forward to it." http://www.attheraces.com/article.as...=&sub=&day=Mon |
Thanks for the update, Bigs.
I'm glad the connections of Grande Crus opted for the Wednesday race instead. Is What a Friend cross-entered in something else? Kinda hope so. Kauto Star and Long Run... I mean I don't think anyone comes close. My lock for tomorrow with ridiculously nothing odds is of course everyones lock, Sprinter Sacre BUT my other lock (and this one should be at fair enough odds... 12/1?) is Montbazon. Longshot for the day is White Star Line. At 20/1 now, should go higher. Hooray. :$: Favorite runners tomorrow (cause I know everyone cares :D) are all in the same one... Binocular (winner), Hurricane Fly and my Celestial Halo (I know, I know but this is my favorite guy of the day even if he'll be last). Oh and I like Our Mick although The Package should win that one. Oh and David Ord! Can't wait to read his stuff!!! Good luck to anyone playing (are you, Bigs?), and come home safe EVERYONE. |
1) Cinders and Ashes, Darlen, Dylan Ross
2)Al Ferof 3)Our Mick, Quantitativeeasing, Baile Anrai 4) Rock On Ruby, Binocular, Zarkandar 5) Garde Champetre 6) Dare to Doubt, Kentford Gray Lady, Violin Davis 7) Bless the Wings, Akertac, That'll Do good luck |
Nice pick with Cinders and Ashes, Herkie!
White Star Line was 2nd and a couple of mine were 3rd or 4th just for the sake of comedy. Basically I sucked. Glad you didn't! Haven't watched anything yet. I never do till after... Everyone home safe? |
Cinders and Ashes was fuking awesome, knocked down two fences including the last and still blew them away.
I know Scotsirish was pulled up |
Race 1 Four Commanders, Allee Grande
|
Race 2 Nelsons Bridge, Cotton Mill
|
|
Race 3 Lambro currently 40-1
|
Sad postscript from the first two days racing as 3 horses died on Day 1 and 2 on Day 2.. I sincerely hope that is the end :(.
|
Beautiful picture, Herkie and have to say you're very brave for watching as it happens.
I can't. Never could. I will root and or bet but nover watch till until after the fact and only if I'm sure of no fallers. Thanks for the news, Brock. I'll try to find names and add them to the angels thread or if you'd want to... Honestly I haven't even looked at results yet for the day but did hear something about Sizing Europe, who I love, and an incident during his race. Come home safe everyone and good luck guys. I was planning on playing tomorrow but I think I'll sit it out... maybe Friday as well. |
I'm brave for betting these races.
