I never heard a track announcer cry before....

today.

It sounded like Vic was all choked up when they crossed the wire.

Good job Vic and Joel - 6 wins

I think it was great. Congrats Vic.

GPK 12-11-2009 06:34 PM

My buddy at the OTB would have attributed it all to the black pants. He always bets the jock wearing black pants:zz:

Anyway, Congrats Vic and Joel. :tro:

Scav 12-11-2009 06:57 PM

Vic is an emotional guy. I think he also understands the sense of accomplishment. I thought he did a good job and he would have done what he did for ANY jock that won that many races in a day, let alone his jock.

I am surprised no one mentioned his Zenyatta speech, he was about 2 seconds from breaking down when talking about her, and honestly, something like that tells me how much he loves the game.

The Indomitable DrugS 12-11-2009 06:58 PM

VOL JACK 12-11-2009 07:29 PM

Great job by Vic just to get mounts in all those 4 horse fields.

Vic went with a number (his age) to make the accomplishment sound more impressive.

The 30-year-old Tennis-See-An VOL JACK opted for a number to make it sound less impressive.

Your post would have been better if you included the birthplace of all the winning horses Joel rode.

I thought Vic did a great job yesterday with Crisp in the third grabbing the moment for what it was with RB up.
The excitement of the kookie filly blowing the turn into the parking lot and slamming it into 5th to win at the wire left you shaking your head with amazement. You could not tell it wasn't Joel up......

jballscalls 12-11-2009 08:13 PM

just watched the replays of the races today, what a great day for Joel and for Vic!

The Indomitable DrugS 12-11-2009 08:35 PM

Viva La Dominicana!

Rosario has actually been a great rider statistically from a betting value standpoint since almost day #1 on top of being high percentage.

There should be a $250 fine everytime a race caller mentions a jock's age (unless they're a hot chick who just turned 18 or something) and a $1,000 fine everytime they mention a nationality or place of birth.

That's information I don't want to know and won't easily forget.

I only watched the first two races from HWP today...they were both 4 horse fields.

P.S. I will be 31 in 3 weeks...big party....Kiffin is sending some of the Orange Pride to help me celebrate...you should fly down.

I have 20 bucks, a bottle of Popov and an erection.

Think that might get me somewhere in Tennessee?

It'll be a party in the USA!!!

Lane Kiffin might be able to restore UT back to it's glory days ... but no way in hell can anyone from TENN do enough to negate the disgrace Miley Cyrus's music has brought upon it.

Thanks guys. I got a little choked up because I have such great admiration for Joel and such an appreciation of what it means to accomplish something that three hall of famers did.

Probably not very professional. But we all know that's nothing new for me.

Please refer to me as 'Mr. Chicago' now. Thank you

Not sure I can go with Mr. Chicago as even the 10% signer guys who roam the Chicago OTB's are more knowledgeable than you.

How about Mr. Krispy Kreme Donut ? Maybe Mr. What is a Treadmill ?

Nah. I am actually being somewhat kind. I could be a lot nastier. But I don't want to make him cry. He seems to not be able to handle much as we saw last time.

Mostly, I spent a little time getting to know my brothers and family again.

But with Tampa getting ready to kick off - we're getting back to priorities.

Nah you aren't desperate. That hilarious pic of you at CD dressed like a clown at CD doesn't reek as desperate. Not at all...........

Is there a special way for the website to notify you that a specific person has posted on a thread? I was just wondering since I have noticed some individuals come from out of woodworks when certain topics come up.

I disagree. I'm a huge fan of all jockeys and when any of them have a great accomplishment I always make a big deal of it.

As for inflections. Anitbiotics are usually helpful.

Is it harder to call a rac with 4 horses in it? I would think these 5 horse fields are an easy study..

Vic, seriously Cal racing is in serious trouble.. When can we expect Rosario to come to Philly Park during the day and Penn Nat at nigh?. Love your calls, think Joel Rosario is terriffic come east and grab a handful of cash. You never know when you are going to need a few extra bucks

There is no bias in my racecalls. In fact I underplay it when Rosario is doing well. Unlike the other riders I said nothing in my calls or winners circle as he was winning the first 5 of his six yesterday. Any other rider and I'm all over it. Like when Bejarano recently won 4 and a week or so ago when Talamo won five.

I only said something about Joel's 6th yesterday because it was Hollywood Park history. The track and the fans deserved that. And I was very very proud of Joel.

If you didn't know I was his agent you wouldn't be able to tell anything.

Of course I'm biased but you'll never hear it in my calls.

Try a Z-pack for that inflection. I hear they'll kill anything.

I make my worst mistakes and most pathetic calls in short field routes. I tend to try and say too much rather than just reporting the action. The pacing and rythem of the race is very different. I hate it.

Philly Park in the day and Penn. Nat. at night. Ah.... NO!

Victor in a few months you will be singing a different tune.. Your tracks are in crisis mode. I am not down on you or the state it's just a fact, no horses horrible purses and honestly a poor future. How couldn't you ship your horse(Joel) east? Look it's cold and windy but 5k claimers are runner for 15k with12 horses in a field and 5 AE's... Your wonderful HP had trouble placing 50 horses on a weekend card.. Love the climate just not the horse climate.

He's from the Dominican. I'm from San Diego. We don't do cold. The last two days here have felt like the arctic freeze and it's been in the 50's. We're staying with So. Cal as long as there are races here.

Your calls are very good perhaps the very best in the sport at least to my ear.. Rosario is a fine rider and perhaps a FUTURE great BUT he is racing against 4 other horses in a race and on the most likely of the 4. I am not hating just suggestting that his recent success is jaded by th eenvironment or lack there of in Cali..
