I would say Bill Mott is odds on favorite

To get Juddmonte horses. He has a close relationship with top Brass, and that counts alot. How many, who knows, but it would seem he is ML favorite to get his share. Wait and see I guess.

eajinabi 11-27-2009 04:39 PM

I always thought that Humberto Ascaiono would inherit them and train.

Sheriffs

hockey2315 11-27-2009 06:15 PM

Looks like Todd got the Stronachs.

Not sure if he's even under consideration, but I think Clement would be the best fit for Juddmonte.

JDank34 11-27-2009 06:38 PM

Sheriff's is 1/100 to get the Juddmonte horses....

would he even want them? I dont think he wants a large stable, he basically has three clients, Moss, Wygood, and Kirkorian.

He has turned down other high priced clients, I have no clue how Juddmonte operates, my point is he is not a glory chaser to the point he would put up with non sense like Baffert does.

All these years of Frankel-helmed Juddmonte runners makes it clear how they operate, no? That would seem readily apparent from the years of calm coexistence they and Frankel enjoyed. From observing the way Prince Khalid conducts Juddmonte's business, there isn't any interloping or what I guess you mean by 'nonsense'. Juddmonte has proven itself totally professional.. an anti-limelight outfit if there ever was one. When you fold in the relationship Dottie Ingordo had with Frankel, it portends well for her husband taking the handful of Juddmonte horses they keep in North America. And finally, there is the matter of Garrett O'Rourke having said Sherriffs was the leading candidate two weeks ago.

and Dottie's son already working for Juddmonte (at least he was).

I respect Garrett O'Rourke, but I believe there are 2 layers above him who will decide.

They are arguably the best outfit in the sport. You get nothing but stakes quality horses and an owner that lets you call the shots. zero downside.

Gaelic Storm 11-28-2009 06:57 PM

I wonder if they go with an east coast and a west coast trainer. Didn't they have some horses with Kimmel back in the mid 90's?

Nope. . . just heard it through the grapevine.

Riley Mott using the Juddmonte silks as his facebook avatar was a telltale sign.

I hope Mott delivers he certainly will have trouble equaling the success that Frankel had. I have a feeling anybody would.

You don't think Shug would be able to duplicate the success?

Call me anything you want.. Make fun of me.. Call me a JO.. I don't care..Don't f with Shug he is beyond approach PERIOD..lol

Coach Pants 11-29-2009 06:43 PM

I was hoping they would go outside the box and give Chuck their horses. Chuck just needs a chance with some good stock. If you look at his posting record you can see that he has won over 13,000 times, a DT record.

Shug trained Defensive Play for Juddmonte early in that one's US career. He won the Man O'War on turf and Charles Strub on dirt (both Grade 1) for him.

I guess little Riley Tucker's Facebook avatar was correct:

Juddmonte taps Mott as main man
By Steve Andersen

http://www.drf.com/news/article/109626.html

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott will have a stable of approximately 12 horses in Southern California beginning next month, including an undetermined number from Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms. Mott said on Friday that he will decide which horses will be sent to California after Christmas. The stable will be based at Santa Anita.

"We've just got a couple of horses for the stakes and we're trying to get it together," Mott said. "I'll pick up a few of the Juddmonte horses after Christmas."

Juddmonte Farms had horses with the late Hall of Fame trainer Bobby Frankel until his death last month. In recent weeks, the California-based Juddmonte runners have started for Frankel's former assistant, Humberto Ascanio. Juddmonte manager Garrett O'Rourke said on Friday that Mott will train the majority of the stable's runners in the United States in 2010, and that Ascanio will train Midships, the multiple stakes winner on turf. Midships, trained by Frankel earlier this year, is expected to return to training in early 2010.

"Bill Mott will be our number-one trainer," said O'Rourke. He added that Juddmonte is "down to a pretty small string already" in the United States.

Boy,what a great trade off for Humberto.

What are Motts numbers so far, as far as Juddmonte horses? It has to be pretty bad.

Here are the stats...The "Prince" knew Frankel was sick and scaled down the operation in the US... Instead of shipping the string back to Europe he hired HoF trainer Mott to wind it down.. Unfortunately the great Juddmonte will no longer be a force in US racing unless Jaime Ness can convince Prince Oil Fields that he is the second coming of the great Frankel.. Sometimes the great formulator needs to yield to common sense.

I think she still has a chance to be a decent filly, but I don't think Bobby would have put her in that race...
