Whobegotyou (applause! :D ) has his name in red...
http://formguide.cyberhorse.com.au/i...ion-order.html Tell me it's a mistake where it says red means likely to miss... |
I would be surprised if whobe ran in the melbourne cup ,I think his prep is set up for the cox plate .......But who knows with owners theses days the greedy bunch ;-)
|
The thing I have learned throughout the years of watching this race, the winner of the Caulfield Cup and other preps don't necessarily mean they will win the Melbourne Cup.
|
Thanks guys, I'm a moron. :D
Stellar field for the Cox Plate! http://www.virtualformguide.com/cgi-...91020plate.txt |
I'm going to back Roman Emperor in the big race, The status quo 119lbs from finishing 2nd in the Caulfield Cup could turn out to be a blessing and Bart will no doubt have him ready to run his peak race tommorow. Prefer him over stablemate Viewed who has to carry 128lbs. 2 more than the Caulfield Cup.
Unfortunately Allez Wonder is part of the field horses, would have been a super longshot to add into the mix. Not too excited about the euro contingent this year. |
It looks like it is Bart Cummings' spring this year. I wouldn't ignore anything he saddles in the Melbourne Cup. Viewed had an excellent prep on Saturday, but the Master may just had something up his sleeve we don't know about.

My 1-2-3 for the race are:
1. Mourilyan - a nice racing weight, has a fair bit of class and crucially a turn of foot. He is a bit of a monkey so may completely down tools when push comes to shove but worth a bet at about 30-1 2. Crime Scene - I actually really liked his Geelong Cup run when 6th (beaten 2L by Leica Ding) and is better off at the weights than the winner. If you look through his form, he nearly always improves loads second off a break and has a big shot here! I took some 80-1 before the weekend and am delighted with my bet 3. Master O'Reilly - all the hype has been about Bart's horses but this guy has been running really well without winning and Tuesday could be the day (if everything goes right) that he beats Viewed. Or Bart Cummings may just win it again.. Best of Luck all.. |

http://www.derbytrail.com/forums/sho...=24634&page=20 Daffodil, Warringah and Newport underneath (and boy don't I feel guilty for not sticking with CLG). Try not to be last, Gallions Reach. (I love this disappointing guy but am not understanding why he's in this field...) Sad about Efficient and Zipping.. it won't be as good without them. |
|
The undercard is usually good for value priced winners also, keep your bullets handy, I am going to try to get home in time for atleast the 4th race The Sun Stakes.
* Small tip - The 5th race (5 furlong race) is on a straight course, outer post positions are not really that disadvantageous. Track listed as dead/good this morning. |

Those Street Cry's are precocious;) |
Corey Brown missed by a nose last yr and by all accounts was disconsolate after the race, ends up winning the Cup 1 year later. I guess the lesson here is you have to experience 2 extremes to truly appreciate it.

Cheers to anyone who had it.
I'm a moron... didn't realize Mourilyans colors were that of the Chechen flag. Does Kadyrov get the :$: ??? Should he? Thoughts (?) |

I was at Flemington on Tuesday, and both before, during and now after the race I don't think it was one of the best renewals we have seen (and that is perhaps being generous).
For once, they went off pretty slow in a staying race, which is widely noted for the pace it is run at. There were a lot of non stayers in the race and a lot of horses who needed them to go faster. Crime Scene should never ever be allowed to get so close to winning a Melbourne Cup. Because it was run more like a European staying event, the English horses ran pretty well. Well done to Shocking, but I'm less than convinced the best horse won. |
Crown Oaks
Miss with Attitude $20wp |
Who you going with in the Emirates Stakes tomorrow, Coach Pants?
Looks like one of the best races of the Carnival to me. |
