Fuentes??

Doesn't this guy have an f'n breaking ball? What the hell is he doing throwing a fastball 0-2 after throwing two into ARod.....

Retarded thinking right there....

Cannon Shell 10-17-2009 11:16 PM

The pitch selection is not nearly as bad as the location.

Dude, you throw that f'n ball in the dirt or at his f'n head, you don't throw three straight of the same f'n pitches to major leaguers...

I can really care less but I really want the Angels to win and stupid **** like that, it is less likely to happen

MaTH716 10-17-2009 11:22 PM

Like Chuck said, it wasn't the pitch, it was the location.

Wouldnt that be location? That ball caught way too much plate on 0-2 when you know he just saw what you have in taking the first 2 strikes. As a sidearm lefty he doesnt have much of a breaking pitch for righties. Lets face it Fuentes got a lot of saves but isnt overpowering. Hell his ERA was close to 4.

But a different pitch selection would have negated that...

He doesnt really have much else to throw to righties.

Not if he put it in the same spot as he put that heater.

Cannon Shell 10-17-2009 11:31 PM

Robertson just threw a pitch in that same place, high strike zone, right down the middle and a bum like Mathis crushed it.

He hung a few to Matthews and got away with them.

Why isn't Girardi running for Posada? He should still have Harriston and Cervelli on the bench?

MaTH716 10-17-2009 11:46 PM

Wow, they would rather face A-Rod then Texieria right now? A lot of questionable managing tonight.

Cannon Shell 10-17-2009 11:47 PM

McCarver says clearly you go after Tex. They promptly unintentionally, intentionally walk him

It paid off for them. Personally I think Girardi has managed a terrible game tonight. They had opportunities earlier to play small ball, but he opted to let guys swing away and they hit into DP's every time. Then not running for Posada there is kind of hard to phathom. Especially with guys like Guzman and Gardner coming up after A-Rod. He really needed to go for it all that inning.

MaTH716 10-17-2009 11:51 PM

Oh boy, Cano with his second. This feels like it could be a big inning for the Halos.

They dont play small ball very well. Most of them cant bunt.

Cannon Shell 10-17-2009 11:55 PM

McCarver just talks nonsense.... hard to stomach

Cannon Shell 10-17-2009 11:57 PM

Girardi has seemingly left himself with only one available pitcher. There is no reason why Santana cant pitch 4 or 5 innings if needed for LAA. Santana has always been shaky in the 1st inning as a starter.

Agreed, Using Chamberlain and Hughes for 1 inning apiece then only getting about 2 out of Aceves really shortened the pen.

Scav 10-18-2009 12:00 AM

Larry Bird as the greatest slasher evah...

I have heard it all now

MaTH716 10-18-2009 12:01 AM

I can't believe that Robertson got out of that inning. Vlad has been horrendous, he's swinging for the Grand Concourse on every pitch.

Didn't they already use Molina tonight though? Who would catch?

MaTH716 10-18-2009 12:02 AM

Cervelli.

Guerrero's bat speed is shockingly slow. He has dropped off terribly. The old Vlad would have pulverized that strike 2 fastball.

Yes, because of the whole Burnett/Molina marriage.

He's a kid that came up when Posada and Molina were both hurt and actually played pretty well. Much better behind the plate then he is with his bat.

No, the old Vlad would have been put on first on 4 pitches.

MaTH716 10-18-2009 12:08 AM

Pie Time.

Cannon Shell 10-18-2009 12:09 AM

What was he thinking?

I want to thank GBBob for waking me up so I could see the end of this abortion of a game.

That's a heartbreaking loss, ala Minnesota game 2.

You just cant take chances in that spot. Horrible decision.

I guess the Yankees deserve it. They did pay the most for it. And their fans are so knowledgeable. Obviously they were spot on with their ARod assessment.
