Bailey on Randy Moss

ESPN needs to show more horse racing coverage.

Quote:

Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey, an eight-time Pro Bowl selection and one of the most respected players in the game, dispelled any such notion.

“He never lollygags,” Bailey said yesterday during a conference call. “See, that’s the thing, people don’t really understand the game. I mean, he blocks, he does all those little things. I wouldn’t say he’s the greatest blocker, but he does it effectively.

“When he’s jogging, he’s just really setting you up for the next time he jogs and then he takes off running past you. He’s one of those guys, he loves to find ways to set you up.”

Bailey and Moss figure to see a lot of each other Sunday when the Patriots face the unbeaten Broncos in Denver. It’ll be a challenge, but one Bailey is looking forward to.

“I’ve always said since I played him for the first time, he’s one of the best I’ve ever seen, even to this day,” Bailey said of Moss. “He’s in his 12th season, but that guy, he plays like he’s 25 years old again.”

No, I was with you on this one. When I saw the thread title, I thought maybe there was going to be some tension between the two or something of that ilk.

since it was in the sports bar and grill area, i immediately thought of champ bailey and the non-horse randy moss. had it been in the paddock, i'd have figured the other way.

herkhorse 10-10-2009 07:22 AM

One things for sure, when Denver is 5-0 after this weekend, it will be the biggest surprise of the year so far.

In deference to you, Declan and other Eagles fans on the board, I will keep my thoughts to myself on this one.

we feel that cowboys supporters (only guys of course) deserve to get their ass kicked. If you feel otherwise that is your opinion.

and as a Broncos fan, with wins over both Dallas and NE the season is complete.
I figured they would win maybe 5 all year

NTamm1215 10-11-2009 06:42 PM

The Broncos are completely legit. Their defense is not flashy, doesn't force many turnovers but they keep you off balance, force a lot of 3 and outs and get their jobs done.

They get another big test with next Monday night's game at San Diego. They win that the division is theirs for all intents and purposes. (3 remaining games against OAK/KC are helpful).

Next week will be interesting...........I'm not sure how good the defence is. Brady is not playing very well IMO. He had Moss and Welker for TD's on plays they had set up perfectly and he missed badly on both. Denver is getting the breaks right now, it will even out.

Drugs will find any story that makes him feel less guilt about fellating Randy Moss when he was in high school.

I don't buy that. Cowboys fans, when you go to a game, are about the most laid back fans you ever want to see. I hate the Cowboys by the way.

Red Sox fans are 10x more annoying than Yankees fans, at least at Orioles games.

Cowboy fans are the biggest frontrunners in sports. They arent very good right now so they are quiet. As for the Red Sox/yankees, its close but the arrogance of Yankee fans wins out. As a matter of fact 7 or 8 years ago I know a lot of pretty neutral fans that were actually rooting for the Sox to win a WS. That never, ever happens with the Yankees. The typical Yankee fan seems to think they are entitled to win and when they dont there is a conspiracy. Obviously not all of them are annoying but I can think of 10 horrific Yankee idiot fans I know off the top of my head.

We were referring to fans in general, not necessarily at games.

Not to mention that a yankee fan in another thread called Derek Jeter the greatest player of all time. That alone is a case rester.

Where do Notres Damas fan fit here?

"The ND D needs some work. However, the O came on, and made it a game, as in one slip and the outcome just might have been different. The day is coming when these so called real teams can't play those that can't cut the grades. And you know exactly what that means.

Mediocrity? No. Weak schedule - No. ND's schedule is just like every year. Their schedule stacks up with anyone out there. Hey, Washington beat USC, and ND beat Washignton. Who played a 1AA school yesterday? How many SEC / ACC teams play 1AA schools or weak lower tier 1A? Who played Western Kentucky; not ND. These teams stats get bumped up and the media just flows with - oh how good they are.

I agree, the ND left tackle could not handle the DE speed, on his side. However, as the game went on, the line improved. I agree that ND has to become faster, which has improved with the recent recuirtment classes. They had nothing when Ty was let go, insomuch in depth and speed. ND did more against the USC D than anyone has thus far... Again one slip from a least a tie score. Also, MF #3 would have made a difference too.

On ND's d side, the DB's did not show up, at least on three seris. Yes, the USC TE or WR were wide open and it made Barkley look great. I do not know if that was bad calls on the D alignment or missed assignments by the DB's? Nonetheless, mistakes made that allowed easy USC scores.

About every school you listed, wanted a lot of the same players now on ND's team. The talent is getting there, even if they have to be real students. Unlike most of the SEC. Big Ten, and Pac Ten for that matter.

I don't care who the team is, when you spear someone who has their back turned to you, being held up by your teammate, you should get tossed. The Oregon RB - wrong too, but for a different reason, and properly taking care of. I'm not sure I agree with the full season, however. If he is back, then good for him, and hopefully he learned a thing or two. Otherwise, just another player being used by a college for nothing more than winning football games. That does not happen at ND!
Updated Sagarin Ratings - ND Schedule at 17"

I hate them both, so I won't argue much. I will say when you win as much as the Yankees have, the fans probably are entitled to be a little arrogant.

As for the Cowboys, you are probably talking more the "bandwagon, never even been to Texas" fans more than true Dallas fans. That has been my experience, in good years and bad.

The vast majority of the Yankees titles were before most of their fans (or detractors) were born.

Virtually every Cowboy fan I have ever encountered was the type you described.
