Can We Get A List Of Names
of people on this board who are considered untouchables or too valuable that their crap needs to be absorbed. That way we don't waste time replying and having our posts deleted. Not all but apparently it seems only a chosen few are allowed to shovel barn poop over other members , Thanks

I have someone in mind who comments on everything, but I feel never really says ANYTHING. I cant say her name though, because I would like to hang around this time.

I have grown to like you, but I remember you used to be BRUTAL. |
You like both me and Pants?
You're probably the only one on here that does, besides me! |
i remember when steve started this site. a lot of us had been posting on espn, but things had taken a definite downhill turn and posting had become next to impossible. a couple of trolls had decided to pretty much pollute that board. a temporary 'home' was started via yahoo, and then derby trail opened for business. i know a lot of us really appreciated the fact that someone would take on such a thankless task so that those of us who wanted to 'talk' horses would have a place to do so. now, some have come and gone..some of us have been here from the start. sometimes things get heated, sometimes things go overboard. i'd imagine that most of us probably have typed and posted in the heat of the moment, and many of us would most likely take back some things said in anger.
at any rate, altho things get a bit ugly in here at times, at the end of the day it's still generally a fun place to visit. there may be times that feelings get a bit hurt, something rubs the wrong way, but in a crowd this diverse, we're not all going to agree 100%, regardless of the issue. |

sorry, can't answer that....i don't think anyone is treated differently, but i could be wrong about that. some people may seem to push the boundaries, but perhaps there's dialogue that we wouldn't be privy to that would hopefully rein that in? |

I wasn't present in the beginning but since 2005-6 DT has been my neighborhood place to come to socialize, discuss, laugh and learn. No subject is taboo, no event considered too private as immediate family have passed and babies born. In learning to measure what I write and to read much more than I say, the place still works for me and I appreciate those here that make me smile, warm my heart, force me to think and question that which I had taken for granted in this world as judgment should be the last thing I should be comfortable with here......so I am not. |

well, thanks! i just know that steve has many irons in the fire, and isn't always here to keep us all in line. we're all adults here-i think. and yes, when i said many of us no doubt have said things we regret, i was thinking of myself along with many others. there is some anonymity here...some may feel emboldened because of it. but, i'd like to think that i wouldn't be embarrassed to meet anyone in person that i've conversed with on here. |
It's been a while since there's been any kind of air-clearing around here, so I'll make a brief 'policy statement'...
There are terms of service outlined on the forum, and about 99.8% of the time they are followed. For the most part, the forum hasn't even needed moderation for ages. That in itself is remarkable considering we have a community of more than 900 Derby Trailers visiting here over any 72 hour period, and is thanks largely to the tone set early on when pais was serving as the invaluable reine-de-course. While I wish I could, I cannot read every post. If I delete something, it is usually a post or posts that I interpret as mean-spirited or ill-advised. I cannot catch everything and I don't believe there is a more relaxed policy, in a forum of this type, towards members occasional inappropriate conduct. I do the best I can while watching over the board largely alone. As I've said before though, this isn't a public trust. I like to think I've operated this site in an even-handed manner. If someone doesn't think so, I'm sorry. As was originally suggested in 2005, I expect DTers to treat each other as if they were sitting together at a picnic table in the Saratoga backyard. And I'm confident that anyone who has been around me by the Barbecue at Saratoga knows how I try to treat my guests. Everyone here has something to contribute to the ongoing party. I do my best to maintain the atmosphere, but I'd like to think everyone knows how to conduct themselves and treat their fellow guests. |
.... mmm I been having dt's (withdrawal kind) for a pork bbq .... i'll gladly attest to how great u treat your guest.:D

It is difficult for me to gain and maintain any attention when our caped crusader is busy keeping the threads safe for all horse lovers. :{>:

OMG. Something truly salvageable from this thread. A picture of THE staple of every real man's wardrobe in '09. You Ed Hardy affectionados....F*ck off. Thank you, Coach. Yet another one of your valuable contributions in a truly legendary body of work. When this magnificent piece of art became available to the general public earlier this year, the first reviews leaked to the press were over the top. I remember them vividly. "SonOfSpam" wrote: "So I'm looking for threads that say, 'Hey, baby......I'm real boss!' when I stumble upon this epic creation. The wolves spoke to me in a language all their own; it was like German, Mongol and Bitchin all mixed together. I mean, one wolf howlin at the moon is major....but three??? I ordered next day air (if only there was same day!), and, of course, a size smaller than usual to ensure the closeness to the wolves to my chest hair. When the package arrived, I tore it open and I SWEAR angels sang. I think it was "Freebird". I immediately removed my "No Fat Chicks" shirt and replaced it with this finery. Lemme tell you: AW YEAH. I'll spare the details of my conquests since I started wearing this shirt. Suffice it to say, I'm swimming in a sea of babes the likes of which are usually only found on those K-Tel infomercials. I'm also more confident at work and expect to be promoted to cashier soon. I owe everything to this shirt. (I should say "shirts" since I now own 23 of them) |
