Arc coverage

Anyone watching? The camera work is absolutely sensational. I hope some US tracks are watching. They sure could learn a thing or two.

I think the sport could win more fans just based on this kind of coverage.

CSC 10-04-2009 08:48 AM

I'm watching Spyder and I have to agree, they do this also in Australia and HK on big race days when they have cars drive along beside the horses to get some interesting vantage points, the camera on the ground is cool also.

zippyneedsawin 10-04-2009 09:07 AM

I'd love to watch it.. let me tune into TVG right now... ohh.. wait.. what's going on?!?

Arletta 10-04-2009 09:08 AM

Perfect trip winner... not a stone in his path.

Arletta 10-04-2009 09:21 AM

Wow!! :tro:

Coach Pants 10-04-2009 09:21 AM

Youmzain with another second. He just doesn't like to win.

Was he really???

I wouldn't know, I have TVG.

Can you please say who was 3rd for those of us who are dying here? Thanks.

Travis Stone 10-04-2009 09:22 AM

Sea The Stars... he ran really well, no doubt he's talented, but the seas parted down the stretch for him with the rabbits.

docicu3 10-04-2009 09:23 AM

18-1-16-2-10.....

What a beast STS is....

Cavalryman 3rd Conduit 4th.

Sea the Stars had an absolutely amazing closing kick. Much the best.

zippyneedsawin 10-04-2009 09:24 AM

thank God for Twinspires.. unbelievable that TVG didn't have it.

CSC 10-04-2009 09:25 AM

He(STS) apparently had some trouble in the early parts of the race, it was a super effort IMO on first viewing. This horse is no doubt a superstar.

Inside whole way, rabbits set the pace up, his lane opens up and he's gone. Now, he had to have the kick to outrun those who moved outside, but one steady or check and I don't think he gets there.

He's super talented though, and I'm not sure we have anyone here who can beat him.

I didn't see anything early but watching that race is like "Where's Waldo?"

Suppose he had been put away for the year after the Irish Champion, because his owner was mad at the French Jockey Club (like the people behind Dar Re Mi were after her DQ last month), or because the trainer thought he wouldn't like the soft ground that Longchamp often has in October? People were saying he didn't really stay 12f and would have continued to do so if he hadn't tried. The champions face their obstacles and overcome them for all to see.

I'm sure you'd be up to the challenge of calling that race! You just have to work on your British or French accent. :D

Doesn't work.

Unless you're insinuating that Santa Anita has a chance to come up DIRT in November.

In principle, I agree. But this doesn't work.

Yeats is running the final race of his career in the Prix Du Cadran which in a way is a shame cause 1. he's not at home and 2. it's completely and understandably overshadowed.

Only horse to win the Gold Cup 4 times... could someone with HRTV please post how he does / did?

Thanks.
