Take Ohio State and the points

Not that I know anything about betting College Football... but hey, I did get the game right when these two teams played last year.

The line opened USC minus 4.5 .. and it's up to 7 in some places.

The crowd against Navy was over the top polite .. there was all this sportsmanship week BS and the crowd was told not to boo Navy because they are supposedly some kind of service academy. The game was at 12 noon.

The crowd will be loud and good and drunk by kickoff this week. They will have a real home field edge over a true freshman qb that threw a ton of INT's in highschool.

His first four offensive series with the Trojans resulted in two fumbles, two punts and a 3-0 deficit to San Jose State before they got everything together and rolled SJS.

OSU's defense won't look much worse playing a true freshman qb and a more traditional offense than trying to defend a very good option team like Navy.

Coach Pants 09-08-2009 10:03 AM

Too bad the crowd can't suit up.

The Indomitable DrugS 09-08-2009 10:21 AM

You don't think travelling across the country to play a major national tv night game in front of a bunch or rabid drunks will bother the USC qb? They said he threw like 20 INT's in high school.

Prep had Bob Sanders, Hinkle, and Walker in there secondary when I was a senior .. and I think they had like 4 INT's between them.

I think he will screw it up for USC.

timmgirvan 09-08-2009 10:30 AM

USC has too much experience and will be too fast for Buckeyes...sorry Cannon!

Hopefully a bunch of thier parole officers wont let them travel out of state.

I am one of the few people who live in this neck of the woods (Columbus, Ohio) and can't stand the Buckeyes football program. With that said, they have this history of barely winning their first game of the season, at least it seems that way since SweaterVest has arrived.

Drugs, you are dead on about the fans. Gesh, they are going to open this one area for "fans" at 8:00am, with live music starting at 8:30am. Oh yeah, there will be alky for sale when they open this deal up. Night game to boot.

It will be close, SweaterVest always seems to be able to rally the troops to accomplish that goal. However, Ohio State has lost their last 4 games to out of conference opponets. You just gotta believe that when it comes down to Petey versus SweaterVest you give the nod to Petey no?

They have a stable of running backs and quite frankly the sweater vest can't beat surfer gramps.

Trojans minus 7 is a GIFT from the football gods...

i like the other big 10 / pac 10 matchup this week

look for OU to take out last week's games at Boise St on Purdue

this is a night game in Eugene and a slower team from the big ten must travel to the west coast early in the year. OU has had 2 extra days to prepare for this game and i think the line would have been a lot higher had the ducks not played the boise game and lookede so bad

Take the Ducks and lay the 12 as they look to hang 42+ on a slower big 10 team out on the west coast

dustmop 09-10-2009 11:32 AM

Most of you are still incredibly stupid.

Incorrigible dirigible.

Read.... "Canadian Spaceship."

Team Nincompoop glides on ...aimlessly.

rpncaine 09-10-2009 12:02 PM

What the hell? Is this some kind of personal grudge from the past?

dustmop 09-10-2009 12:08 PM

Oh shut up already.

Why do you think USC covers?

Well it helps that Purdue is one of 2 teams battling for the Oaken Bucket. Loser will be in the bottom of the Big Ten this year.

"mmm...the Mother Lode."

Smooth Operator 09-11-2009 10:36 PM

Hope you haven't done anything stupid, DrugS.

Trojans are 11-1 against-the-spread in their initial road games under Pete ... and 12-4 ats against Top 10 squads since '01.

Kid is no chump. If/when OSU tries to stuff the run ... which I highly doubt they'll be able to do consistently ... he'll burn them thru the air.

Pryor is good ... home crowd will help ... but I doubt OSU can outscore the Trojans.

SC - 31
OSU - 17

JerseyJ 09-12-2009 01:28 AM

We'll see what happens when Barkley gets his first taste of a sea of 60,000+ screaming Buckeye fans in a sea of red at the Horseshoe...me thinks it's going to be just a wee bit intimidating for him...

Buckeyes 24, USC 17...GO BUCKS GO!!!
