Vick in Buffalo

He's visiting Buffalo today for the second time in two weeks which could very likely mean a contract signing. I don't like this move. T.O. will be undermining Edwards by Week 3 clamoring for Vick to start when his suspension ends. On the other hand if Edwards plays great off the bat and you could bring Vick in for Wildcat and 5 wide sets it could be an amazing addition. Vick under center with Evans, Owens, Josh Reed, Roscoe Parrish, and James Hardy in a spread formation is impossible to defend. If you rush six you have man to man on all five receivers and no ones fifth best cover guy can match up with any of those guys. If you rush four they can spread the field and Vick can take off and run.

If he signs here, I would guess he will be the starting Qb by week 3.

That'll be tough with the whole 6 week suspension thing. If he signs, Edwards sure as hell had better have a good first 6 weeks.

better buffalo than pittsburgh. for that fact, better ANYWHERE than pittsburgh!

alysheba4 08-13-2009 02:51 PM

huge grease fire in the making......t.o and that jackass vick?

SniperSB23 08-13-2009 02:55 PM

Looks like nothing is happening today. Most are suggesting Vick will make his decision by Monday so I guess we'll know shortly. I'm torn on whether I want him to wind up in Buffalo or not.

Danzig 08-13-2009 04:55 PM

i wouldn't be torn, and i wouldn't want him.

The next REALITY show hit ? If I can use the word ...""reality"" with T.O.

declansharbor 08-13-2009 05:05 PM

If it's what T.O. wants, they should pursue/sign him. Keeping him happy is key, if history has taught us anything about him. If he's not happy, you have a headache on your hands the size of his bank acct.. That would be a sick formation with those 5 lined up acrossed the field. Only team that's nickel/dime package could contain it, would be the Eagles, of course. ....Joselio Hansen will turn more heads this year, and i'm really high on this Ikegwuonu kid (x-box) if he can survive preseason and make the roster. (srry, im good for at least 1 spin into the Birds)...

Coach Pants 08-13-2009 05:46 PM

Buffalo needs all the help they can get. Edwards is absolutely horrendous. He's like a statue in the pocket and will more than likely be crippled by 2012 if he doesn't learn that timing is everything.

If they were to toss every player in the league to fall under this category, there wouldnt BE a league. Simply put, he's a great teammate to have when things are going well. You just have to strike pre-emptively and dump his a$$ before the wheels fall off. I can see him flourishing in Buffalo, either by himself or opening the field up for the other guys.

ddthetide 08-13-2009 07:34 PM

Vick signed with the eagles!....:zz:

vick isn't the kind of qb you plug into a standard nfl offense. any success he had came from building a team around his mobility. i don't know if anyone remembers but when he threw the ball, he looked pretty average. maybe a little below average.

i can't imagine why t.o. would want him there unless he's suddenly worried about building up his downfield blocking stats.

declansharbor 08-13-2009 07:45 PM

My dad just called me and asked me how the phuck I can support a team like that....I could sense the steam shoot through his ears when he was explaining to my mom why he's no longer a fan. "thats the phuckin difference between those losers and a real organization (the Phils)" He had to hang up with me for not seeing this eye to eye with him.

I was hoping for Cleveland.
Would have brought a whole new meaning to the 'dawg pound'.

cincinnati would have been more fitting, convicts, clowns and the worst run team in the league.

Lava 08-13-2009 08:02 PM

wow I am no longer an eagles fan.

Coach Pants 08-13-2009 08:08 PM

This is good news for the Eagles and Vick.

The guy can break ankles and will give defenses fits. The Eagles are a serious contender now.

ddthetide 08-13-2009 08:09 PM

should somebody stop by to see if steve b., johnny d. and lori are ok?

Coach Pants 08-13-2009 08:13 PM

Since when does off the field behavior = on the field performance?

If that were true then LT would of been on the sidelines in the USFL.

Come on, people. The NFL has always glorified morons and thugs.

This is only a big deal because Americans, for the most part, value a dogs life over most humans. If he had thrown a b.itch down a flight of stairs this wouldn't be news.

Exactly. If he had just gotten drunk and killed a person while driving, he would have been out of jail a long time ago. What did Stallworth get? A month?

the fact stallworthy literally got away with murder really has nothing to do with vicks disgusting acts over several years' time.

the guy getting railroaded is plaxico burress, who hurt no one but himself and is looking at serious jail time-i find his case to be far, far beyond ridiculous.

but, not surprised vick got signed. peta will make their grumblings, but who pays attention to those crackpots anyway?

i agree.. Was pissed when my mom told me last night. my dad works hard all year and he has Eagles season tickets for the past 20 years.. now his hard earned money will have to go to pay this scumbags salary!?!?

I thought the man deserved another chance to make a living... I just really didnt want him on my team.

I agree with your dad.

Except I have to support the Eagles.. I bleed Eagle green. But I dont want Vick. I'm not going to stop being a fan but I'm not feeling to awesome about the Eagles right now.

I did apologize to my dog last night for signing a dog killer. He didnt understand. I always thought vick as a qb was so overrated. As a runner he's the bomb. We are bringing him in as a wildcat QB only.. which I assume he will be the best in the league. Still gonna boo him tho.

Although I find Vick's actions reprehensible this is true and a sad commentary on today's society.
