Saratoga Select session 2

allow me to start a new thread for session 2 of the select FT select sale...
first offer is hip 91
http://www.fasigtipton.com/catalogs/2006/0808/91.pdf

3x3 Mr Prospector, seems like a speed oriented filly here.
the immediate family produces mucho winners. 27 winners to date by the first 3 dams.

Balletto 08-09-2006 02:16 PM

A man (or woman... dont know!) after my own heart. You have to respect Silver Deputy in every regard. Is there a more underrated broodmare sire out there?

Balletto 08-09-2006 02:19 PM

Im really interested in what hip 174 brings. The dam is a stakes-winning half of the filly I have in the LLC. Forest Wildcat seems to have cooled off lately, or am I missing some runners or note?

Betsy 08-09-2006 03:00 PM

I think hip 94, the AP Indy full to Malibu Moon should bring a bundle; if she doesn't hit $1 million, I'll be disappointed. I'm most interested, though, in the Mineshaft filly; Lane's End wants to create buzz for the many Mineshafts next month and she's supposed to be good,

'

I'll take Pleasant Colony for $100, Alex.

Cajungator26 08-09-2006 03:13 PM

I really like 103 and 176.

sumitas 08-09-2006 04:15 PM

106, 151, 176 are outs

171 is the Mineshaft filly Betsy follows. this is a Mineshaft/Unbridled cross.
the one AP Indy in the sale is 94, a filly.
there are 7 Unbridled Songs tonight and 7 Hennesys.
All 3 Empire Makers appear tonight.
the sale topper so far http://www.fasigtipton.com/catalogs/2006/0808/32.pdf at $1,150,000, Sky Mesa has 3 more in the ring tonight.
the other $1,000,000 sire last night http://www.fasigtipton.com/catalogs/2006/0808/35.pdf has one more tonight, 111, a colt by Distorted Humor.

paisjpq 08-09-2006 05:06 PM

looking forward to some fireworks tonight. I am really excited to see what 102 brings (she says yet again).

Rob whiteley breeds runners and sets fair and reasonable reserves on his horses. The sport needs more breeders like him.
Looking for a win is a nice solid mare --a little more refined than a lot of crafty P foals. I hope this one sells well.

Cajungator26 08-09-2006 06:54 PM

That hip 93 filly was nice...

This full to Malibu Moon is NICE.

Balletto 08-09-2006 06:55 PM

Yes she is... started the bidding at 2mil. Should be interesting to see if she reaches there... 1.3 now.

Balletto 08-09-2006 06:56 PM

Sold for 1.3 million.

Balletto 08-09-2006 06:56 PM

Here comes the Vindication half to The Green Monkey. Is it just me or is she a big girl?

Betsy 08-09-2006 06:57 PM

The way the bidding started, I thought we were headed for a very high priced yearling......still, not bad at all. Whoever bought her got a good deal - if she doesn't turn out to be a good racehorse, she'll be a fine broodmare prospect.

Balletto 08-09-2006 06:58 PM

The Green Monkey half went for 225k I believe.

sumitas 08-09-2006 07:09 PM

100 has 3 Raise a Natives. too many for me.
101 goes for $150k...not an overwhelming bottom line. an ok one.

sumitas 08-09-2006 07:21 PM

104, how not to breed...5 Native Dancers is the best they could come up with from this dam ?

107, another Secrtetariat inbreed...geesh, not good.

I don't know... 104 looked like a racey filly to me.

sumitas 08-09-2006 07:27 PM

108, not a great pedigree but not bad either. fetched $80k...must be the buyers thought her 2 native dancers was not enough...i'm just giving some ped impressions, not visuals...are you sitting in the first row with your laptop ?

111, $650k...ok ped from an immediate family of some black type...shows you what Distorted Humor can bring...this was a big leggy colt...

Cajungator26 08-09-2006 07:35 PM

I was impressed with that last Distorted Humor.

sumitas 08-09-2006 07:38 PM

112, $350k...it's a nice ped for the colt. Unbridled Song/Seattle Slew cross with good La Troienne support.

Cajungator26 08-09-2006 07:43 PM

115, looks just like Forestry. VERY impressed with this filly.

sumitas 08-09-2006 07:44 PM

me too...nice pedigree for a filly...should make a super broodmare in time...she got about $650k

Cajungator26 08-09-2006 07:54 PM

Well... speaking of ridglings... 121 is one.

We were just talking about this the other day. Roman Ruler is also a ridgling.

Cajungator26 08-09-2006 07:55 PM

Ugh... no way on 122. Not big on the Fappiano inbreeding.

sumitas 08-09-2006 07:56 PM

121 is inbred to Flitabout, not a sound move...Flitabout is the dam of Reviewer (broke down several times), the sire of Ruffian...plus 121 has the 3 raise a natives the songandaprayer carries...i hope 121 does well but he is strapped with a very fragile ped.

sumitas 08-09-2006 07:59 PM

wow, 1.3 mil for 122...a fappiano and in reality cross...our mare carries Fappiano so...Fappiano is one of the sounder of Mr Prospector's sons .

sumitas 08-09-2006 08:05 PM

125, 1/2 to Monarchos...good solid pedigree by Empire Maker...$425k...probably a good buy

I know the breeders. They also bred Monarchos. I was impressed with the filly although I'm not very impressed with Empire Maker.

Cajungator26 08-09-2006 08:09 PM

I LOVE Include. Great conformation and that colt looked great as well.

TheSpyder 08-09-2006 08:10 PM

I was wondering the same thing. Must be something wrong...

I LOVE this Point Given filly.

Betsy 08-09-2006 08:33 PM

The last few Sky Mesas sold so/so, in the mid 100,000's.........but I don't think they were his best pedigree wise. He's already done great overall, but I'm psyched about September.

I'm also very disappointed that the AP Indy/Macoumba filly was a buy-back. I can't believe with that pedigree that she didn't sell.........Oh well. There will be lots of people down the line regretting that they didn't buy this filly.......

1.3 million wasn't enough? LMAO

LOL, actually no. That filly is worth at least that much and probably more just as a broodmare prospect. She'll be in good hands regardless; Malibu Moone was an extremely talented horse. If she's got anywhere near his ability, she'll be ok.

Didn't he only have two starts though? I mean seriously...

I'm sorry... I just get dumbfounded by these high prices. I'm in shock...
