I can't wait to hear about the best horse(s) he ever trained, especially since we heard about the 25 or 30 best he ever rode.

So long as she fixed me a sandwhich the next morning ... I'd probably hit it.

Is Gary Stevens a horse racing villain or something? Other than him being a Hall of Fame jockey, a really handsome dwarf, and riding Seabiscuit in a match race against War Admiral in the movies, I have to admit I don't know much about the man.

Fill this rookie in. Dish, dish, dish...

He was just a real ass clown on TVG with his constant hyperbole and exclamations regarding the best horse he ever rode. At various times I think I heard him say Winning Colors, Point Given, Silver Charm, and War Chant.

I was surprised to hear that he is a smoker. I wonder if he often enjoyed the Curt Bourque-esque paddock smoke before a race.

I think most jockeys smoke to tell you the truth. between races at Portland Meadows, since you can't smoke inside in Oregon, the outside of the jocks room looks like a 5 minute break at a French University.

That being said, i got to chat with Gary while he was in Portland this past season for quite a while, and he couldnt have been nicer not just to me, but to everyone who came up to him at PM.

I wonder if he is going to be a salary trainer and who his owners are and how much ching they have ......hmmm wonder if they need a work rider to pay an obscene amount of money to. ;)

I thought he said RHT was "one of the best horses" he'd ever ridden... I'm sure some where there is a quote from Calvin that Street Sense was the best horse he'd ever ridden.

What's wrong with Stevens? He's less of an ass on TV than Bailey.

I don't see a problem with either one of them. They are two of the greatest jockeys ever.
