Wednesday 5/20 Play-along

Well, I'm actually headed to the track tomorrow so wanted to see what you guys were thinking for tomorrow. I'm still looking at the form, but so far:

Belmont

Race 1: None of these horses deserve to be a heavy favorite but that doesn't mean it won't happen.

Most Likely: (4) Regal Officer - E Prado / P.L. Reynolds
Best Value: (3) Mr. Serious - R Maragh / R Persaud
Next Best: (1) Boyfriendontheside - E Coa / D Galluscio

Race 2:

Most Likely: (3) Lord Snowdon - R Dominguez / A Dutrow
Next Best: (7) Coyoteshighestcall - J Lezcano / S Lake
Can't ignore: (2) Quip - R Migliore / K McLaughlin

Race 3:

Most Likely: (3) Seeyouatsergios - E Coa / D Galluscio
Next Best: (4) Mandate - R Maragh / T Bush
Best Value: (5) Carry the Day - V Santiago / G Contessa

Not sure I'm going to be going after the pick 3 here, but if I do, I might consider singling Lord Snowdon in the 2nd. I think the distance fits him and not sure the other horses will be able to contend.

Possibly. Either there or down to Monmouth for the handicapping contest they're having.

7 took all the late money and looked like a winner every step. When I saw that I went back and played a 7/2,3 exacta to protect but really needed the 6 to get that last jump. That horse was actually pretty good at one point before he fell apart in that year layoff.

I still don't get Regal Officer at 3-1. Seriously, when will people learn their lesson with this horse?

philcski 05-20-2009 12:12 PM

FYI for anyone playing Delaware they are off the turf again :zz:

Coa went right handed at the same time, and caused the first contact. Probably the right decision.

Either way, Chernobyl's Hero is a bum. He had every right to go by and didn't.

Fascinating 2YO race Del R4.

Trip Kuehne Racing (thus the golf course names) has a Mr. Greeley firster taking money, the 7 shows a good gate work, and the 4 entry is a half a million of good horseflesh, but I think some freshman sires have some interesting ones in here at prices. #1 Closing Vision (Pollard's Vision's 2nd starter) has a bullet gate work at Monmouth and #8 RB Applause (Closing Argument's 2nd starter- first was a winner) shows a gate work at 5F, longer than today's race- a great sign- and took a ton of money in the double. These 2YO races are usually crapshoots but I'll take a shot with these two.

$15 win 8
$3 exactas 1,8/1,3,4,7,8
