OMG!

TheSpyder 05-02-2009 08:29 AM

Wow, another twist! Back to the drawing board

SOREHOOF 05-02-2009 08:32 AM

Are you sh!tting me?

slotdirt 05-02-2009 08:34 AM

Seriously, people, is it that difficult to spell out I WANT REVENGE?

zippyneedsawin 05-02-2009 08:45 AM

that's disappointing.

Hoist Her Flag 05-02-2009 08:49 AM

This is the worst derby ever

mclem0822 05-02-2009 08:52 AM

It's breaking news on ESPN News, but not reason is listed. Hope they carry the press conference.

fpsoxfan 05-02-2009 08:57 AM

Interesting. Hopefully the horse is OK. I wonder if he was caught milkshaking the horse.

Hickory Hill Hoff 05-02-2009 09:03 AM

Why does this NOT surprise me!

MaTH716 05-02-2009 09:04 AM

What a God Damn joke. 9:00 sportscenter and sports center news and not a mention of it (but I didn't honestly expect them to pick the story up). The best is TVG showing a preview of the Derby featuring I want Revenge. Then they wonder why no one takes them seriously.

Oh Yeah, and this really F's up my betting plans.

booner 05-02-2009 09:06 AM

!@#*!@#*!@#*

Buffymommy 05-02-2009 09:06 AM

No reason given yet?

maybe they are waiting for the press conference for more info. no other source has details yet including drf and Bh as well as the TVG report is a taped report

That was the first thought that popped into my head. Hope the horse is ok too.

Travis Stone 05-02-2009 09:07 AM

I think the most likely winner, and the likely runner-up, will be in their stalls when the gates open.

Buffymommy 05-02-2009 09:09 AM

The Bloodhorse article just said a physical problem. I hope the horse is alright.

Yup.

I went from being extremely interested in this race to caring very little.

Dunkirk you better be a hero. :D

Danzig 05-02-2009 09:13 AM

holy crap. i thought it was a joke when i saw the thread.

just a few weeks ago, we were talking about how some of the horses this year seemed pretty good.
now we're going to have a field with not ONE grade one winner on dirt in the field. the race is shaping up to be a sad shadow of what we were looking towards not very long ago. now i really wish rachel alexandra had run here. the three best 3 yo's we've got, and none in the race.

but i can't help wondering just exactly what is going on-esp considering the trainer. something not going to clear post-race? did the owners end up paying the price because they didn't take heed from the gato go win fiasco?

The Indomitable DrugS 05-02-2009 09:13 AM

Well - my gimmie I Want Revenge over Quality Road exacta with a long gap back to 3rd from ten days ago is going as swimmingly as my Rachel Alexandra over Justwhistle Dixie exacta with a long gap to 3rd went yesterday.

3 of the 4 scratched!

Sightseek 05-02-2009 09:14 AM

On ESPN now.

robfla 05-02-2009 09:14 AM

ESPN says at Dr Foster flexed the ankle, horse not 100%. Mullins says heat in ankle, Factors in weather, sealed track...

justindew 05-02-2009 09:14 AM

Ankle issue.

you curse, you.

randallscott35 05-02-2009 09:17 AM

No Air Power today.

Hickory Hill Hoff 05-02-2009 09:18 AM

There are 19 other horses entered folks.....although this does reminds me of the morning of the '92 Derby when AP Indy scratched.

MaTH716 05-02-2009 09:19 AM

I guess IEAH's bid for Rachel Alexandria just went up by about 10 million.

booner 05-02-2009 09:19 AM

I do hope IWR is OK. This really takes the flavor out of the day for me.

I have no freakin' clue what to do with the race.

I didn't see that in his post. I suppose you think it's a good derby?

it doesn't for me. i was trying to reconcile myself to those guys in the winners circle again this year. that combined with mullins--ugh.
now, we don't have to worry about that.

South Beach Luv 05-02-2009 09:24 AM

I know a lot of people don't like him but you have to feel bad for Talamo

SOREHOOF 05-02-2009 09:25 AM

Do the horses outside of 13 move over? That doesn't seem fair to the horses who picked outside the main gate and inside the aux gate.

knickslions2 05-02-2009 09:25 AM

Back to the drawing board. My question is how does this affect the pick three (oaks, wood and derby) tickets
