If you go to HRTV's website, they have the schedule there.

DogsUp 04-27-2009 02:23 PM

HRTV is going to show it and it will not be open to the public like that past few years. Too bad too. There was always a HUGE crown down on 4th street during the draw.

kentuckyderby.com has it's usual web coverage of moving the silks to the respective numbers as their chosen.

slotdirt 04-29-2009 11:10 AM

Join in the Dance - Regal Ransom posts 1-2. Nice.

Those arent their posts. The 1-2 is the selection order.

slotdirt 04-29-2009 11:12 AM

AH, I get it. I came in midway through that deal.

Pletcher made out pretty good with his 3 horses when it comes to the selection order.

XIIPointStables 04-29-2009 11:13 AM

Awesome, thanks.

Looks like most of the "contenders" got good selection spots. Maybe Desert Party at 17 is a little rough.

slotdirt 04-29-2009 11:14 AM

So much for West Side Bernie.

slotdirt 04-29-2009 11:21 AM

Man, what is it with Pletcher and that auxiliary gate?

tjfla 04-29-2009 11:26 AM

Why did no one want #9??? Other than early speed all around

slotdirt 04-29-2009 11:27 AM

Anybody remember the last time Pletcher had an early choice in the Derby draw and went with 15?

philcski 04-29-2009 11:27 AM

Whomever is twittering this thing or updating the moving silks is doing a horrible job. They don't match up.

richard burch 04-29-2009 11:28 AM

why didnt any one want post nine?

they could have pushed pioneer all the way inside and nobody did it?

i'm going with freisen fire.

slotdirt 04-29-2009 11:28 AM

Pioneer had like the fifth choice and took 16.

tjfla 04-29-2009 11:30 AM

hmmm

on kentuckyderby.com he was second to last and got #9

Rootdog1 04-29-2009 11:30 AM

seems strange...he must not do well inside of horses...or they were concerned about a log jam in the first turn.

tjfla 04-29-2009 11:31 AM

Seems like problem with the draw???

Posts 15 and 16 have done well in the Derby, a trainer chose one of those posts early last year, also

Clip-Clop 04-29-2009 11:41 AM

15,16

5 of the last 15 winners from 15 or 16.

also im trying to figure out if he picked 9 second to last, why were the other guys picking post 1 and 20 over the 9 spot. I think the website was messed up.

The auxilary gate makes sense from the standpoint a horse will have half the chance of being bumped at the break, also I think it reduces the wait time in the gate due to the simultaneous load. Atleast I remember reading that from Pletcher's reasoning on selecting 15 for Bandini.

ezgoerbaby 04-29-2009 11:51 AM

Kentucky Derby.com screwed it up.

Travis Stone 04-29-2009 12:08 PM

Do the inside horses start a few yards behind the rest? I never understood the inside post avoidance. I'd rather save the ground than lose it. You need to get lucky regardless, I'd take my chances.

I love that Musket Man got the 2 hole. In prior races he had no problem sitting the rail until late. Straight shot the the turn he'll be in good position.
