Which Trainer Would You Like To See Win The Derby This Year?

Anyone in particular? It doesn't need to play into your handicapping...Anyone you don't want to win?

Sightseek 04-14-2009 12:00 PM

Jerkins because he has the best horse.

2 Dollar Bill 04-14-2009 12:01 PM

Cannon Shell !

Chuck Simon. May have to settle for a 2nd Indians victory instead.

In all seriousness, I really wouldn't like to see Mullins win. I think James Jerkens is a pretty easy guy to like and I'd be happy with him doing it.

I have to think about who I want to.

Of those I don't want to I would not like to see Mullins win it (taking nothing away from the horse).

slotdirt 04-14-2009 12:06 PM

Jeff Runco.

VOL JACK 04-14-2009 12:07 PM

Jeff Mullett...It would be a much needed injection to the game.

philcski 04-14-2009 12:08 PM

anybody but mullins

randallscott35 04-14-2009 12:09 PM

Wouldn't bother me to have Mott win it.

randallscott35 04-14-2009 12:10 PM

Longer term I would love to see Shug win it.

sumitas 04-14-2009 12:11 PM

Bill Mott .

Bill Mott is horrendous with 2-year-olds.

randallscott35 04-14-2009 12:25 PM

After reading a recent article about Dubai I'm not pulling for the Sheik either.

Maybe Ryan will be my rooting interest.

gales0678 04-14-2009 12:28 PM

Derek Ryan would be nice to see

I won't root against any trainer

I'd love to see Jerry Hollendorfer win it with Chocolate Candy - this guy lives and breathes horse racing and is an honest, hard-working horseman - he is the epitome of northern California racing. I have nothing but respect for him.

Although I think in reality Chocolate Candy will finish 16th :wf

Holland Hacker 04-14-2009 12:41 PM

I would like to see Larry Jones win it. I think he is an exceptional horseman with a lot of integrity as well.

Not crazy about Porter though.

randallscott35 04-14-2009 12:49 PM

I don't mind Baffert winning either. I get a kick out of him.

Indian Charlie 04-14-2009 12:54 PM

Stute.

slotdirt 04-14-2009 01:26 PM

Didn't Jeff Runco actually have a horse in the Turf Sprint last year, or was that some other random CT trainer?

cakes44 04-14-2009 01:35 PM

Dutrow. He just needs to do some more work with Patena's hind.

slotdirt 04-14-2009 01:47 PM

Oh no I'm not, I was thinking of Ollie Figgins and Rouse the Cat!

Can I change my vote? I'm going with Flint Stites.

pweizer 04-14-2009 01:50 PM

Baffert since I will be betting his horse...

Paul

SniperSB23 04-14-2009 01:52 PM

Jamie Sanders, she came so close with Tueflesberg.

The Indomitable DrugS 04-14-2009 01:58 PM

Oh well ... I was hoping Jayne Vaders would be the next female trainer named.

With out a doubt its Jeff Mullins, I hope his horse wins by double digits and drowns Secretariat's track record.

alysheba4 04-14-2009 02:53 PM
